Hello
I am a seller and recently a buyer started a return because he is not satisfied with the item delivered.
I then confirmed the return and purchased a return label through ebay and made it available to the buyer.
Officially, the return was started on 13.08.
Today, on 19.08., I received a message from ebay that the buyer has closed the return.
What does that mean now? So far there is no indication of a return shipment.
Does the buyer now want to keep the item after all?
With the brief note, "The buyer has closed the return" - without any further explanation, I don't know what to make of it.
Does anyone of you have experience with this and can "translate" this sentence for me - in the sense of - what does this mean for me now?
Customer service is unfortunately not reachable due to technical problems.

Mentor3 weeks agoWhat don’t you understand about that? The return was closed by the buyer, so the matter is settled.
Nothing is coming back and you don’t need to refund anything.
Why don’t you contact the buyer and ask him what made him call the whole thing off?

OP3 weeks agoAs long as I don’t get a message from eBay that the amount has been released and transferred to me and that the account restriction has been lifted, the matter can’t be considered resolved.
The buyer didn’t even respond to my message (confirmation) regarding his return request, so I’m saving myself any further effort.

If a buyer opens a return, it can definitely happen that the amount is withheld at first. However, I’ve never heard of that leading to an account restriction.
Please just mention the item no. and an eBay employee can surely say more about it. She’ll chime in here.
