Good day,
I recently sold a grill. Before I packed up the appliance, I checked its functionality once again. The grill worked perfectly. Now the buyer claims that the grill is defective and has initiated a return. However, the email from eBay does not contain any photos or videos proving that the appliance is actually defective. Is that legal? How am I supposed to know whether the buyer is telling the truth about this?

You'll find out when the item is back again!
You can't reject this return, you have to pay for the return shipping and issue the refund.
If you don't do that, eBay will step in and handle it for you. Then you'll also get a defect on the account.

OP2 months agoAnd if I get the grill back and it turns out that the buyer lied, will I be refunded the refund amount and the return shipping costs by Ebay?

Mentor2 months agoNo, ebay cannot verify either your statement or the buyer's statement. But if the part should not be defective, just report it here again.
