Returns for defective or incorrectly described items
Summary: knoesterpitter reports difficulties with returning defective or inaccurately described items on eBay and compares this with their positive experience with Amazon. They are hopeful for improvements through new EU warranties and guarantee terms. perfect-sally asks about the poster’s specific question and mentions that there are usually no problems with returns as long as eBay’s requirements are followed.
This is now the 2nd time I’ve had the problem of wanting to return an item because it is defective or doesn’t match the description. Ebay is very stubborn about this and wants to ask the seller first. Actually, it’s easier to arrange a return without giving a reason. Then you don’t have the hassle. I’ve already thrown quite a bit of money down the drain doing that, which so far hasn’t happened to me with amazon. Hopefully that will change after the EU guarant and the new warranty conditions. And then the supplier ships the item directly via Amazon. That borders on fraud

Mentor3 weeks ago@knoesterpitter eBay doesn't ask the seller, there are deadlines that have to be met and after that the seller has 3 days from the opening of the case by a buyer to respond.
If they don't do that, buyers can involve eBay, that's always been the case.
And if a seller sells on eBay and other platforms, they can of course also ship from the other warehouse with Amazon, what shipping method was actually listed in the offer?
And when are what new warranty conditions supposed to come into effect?

I can only say that if you acted in accordance with eBay, a return and reimbursement of costs for the reasons you mentioned has never been a problem!
