I would like to describe my current problem with repeated cases of items being removed by eBay AI. I have been selling on eBay for 9 years, usually luxury brand items from the fashion and perfume categories from my private collection. For several months now, I have repeatedly had the problem that eBay classifies items as counterfeit completely inexplicably and removes the listings. This has now been accompanied by account suspensions lasting days to weeks, and an appeal against the decision with the (if possible) submission and explanation of counterarguments / evidence has always been rejected so far. The currently affected item (157797044763) was removed by eBay, according to eBay, automatically by an AI-based decision due to an alleged violation of the counterfeit policy. Of course, it is an original item. I have now received a 7-day account suspension. What is particularly striking is that such decisions have been occurring more frequently lately and do not seem consistent. In my case, identical or comparable items had already been listed previously without any complaints or removal. This gives the impression that the review mechanisms are currently sometimes triggered randomly or in a way that is not understandable, and that listing has become a game of chance, whereby a randomized complaint has consequences for me as a private seller against which I have no chance of fighting.
