Difficulties with refunds
Summary: plutoniumlampe reports problems with an aggressive buyer who withdrew from the purchase but is not submitting the cancellation confirmation to customer service. As a result, plutoniumlampe cannot verify the account, although there will be no ownership. perfect-sally and hasjana clarify the need for a bank account for eBay, especially for fees. petersmodellbahnstuebchen suggests passing the case number on to someone at eBay to get support.
I have a problem with a highly aggressive buyer. He withdrew from the purchase, which isn’t a problem as such. Now eBay says I should verify my account, which I can’t do because I don’t have an account. Contacted customer service and explained the situation.
Solution: the buyer is supposed to contact customer service and confirm the withdrawal from the purchase. He won’t do that. Instead, it’s been days of insults, threats of legal action, etc.
I have no idea how I should behave. Customer service doesn’t want to offer me any other solution.

·1 month agoHello @plutoniumlampe , thank you very much for your post. You need to respond directly in your eBay account to the request for purchase cancellation (accept or decline) and add a payment method for settling the remaining amount.
@petersmodellbahnstuebchen thank you very much for the tag.
Best regards
Elke

if the buyer has withdrawn from the purchase, there is a case number. Please give that or the order number, then dear @elke@ebay can check it, thanks Elke. ❤️
Best wishes from the Baltic Sea

to be allowed to sell here, you have to provide a bank account that is in your name and has been verified accordingly
but that shouldn't actually have any influence on a canceled purchase, even if the buyer had already paid (?)

Mentor1 month agoUnless there are any fees that are not refunded and are debited from the account.

Mentor1 month agoWhat kind of account do you not have?
You apparently do have an eBay account.
And if you don't have a bank account, you shouldn't sell because the money can't be paid out to you.

Mentor1 month ago · Editedwell - first of all, the money stays in the member account as credit and can be requested by the seller, but doesn’t have to be
the bank account is primarily relevant for eBay when fees are incurred (and there isn’t enough credit available for refunds)

Mentor1 month ago · EditedThat's exactly what is meant 😉 We don’t know what was sold and why the return or refund.
