Delivered to buyer by yourself — how is it confirmed on eBay?
I delivered this myself to the buyer after selling a very bulky, but light item.
The buyer checked the delivery and confirmed it by signing the invoice. How is the received delivery marked on eBay if the recipient does not do anything in eBay themselves?
Until then, eBay withholds the amount due.

MentorSep 8, 2026 at 10:23 AMHi @rudi03327
to conclude, once again my personal opinion as a commercial seller on this platform.
What do you think, how many shipments are handled here in Germany alone through Ebay?
To minimize the effort involved in checking the delivery deadlines that have to be met, Ebay uses various algorithms to verify shipment and delivery confirmations. Manual checking would drive the platform’s operating costs up enormously and thus the cost of using the platform.
The consequence would be further migration of paying members, since they would have to bear higher costs.
If everyone were to sell differently from Ebay’s guidelines now, absolute chaos would ensue. None of us can want that.

MentorSep 8, 2026 at 9:43 AM@rudi03327 a recipient/buyer can’t do anything, they can rate you, but that doesn’t necessarily speed up the payout either.
You had only specified shipping, which is probably why eBay is also asking you to finally ship it — was it the bumper?
Also, since you’re a new seller, payouts generally take longer anyway.

OPSep 8, 2026 at 9:46 AMThanks. Yeah, it was the bumper that I (hopefully) marked as shipped.

MentorSep 8, 2026 at 9:50 AMThat doesn’t help much in this case, you don’t have a shipping number for the shipment and also no proof of delivery.

OPSep 8, 2026 at 10:04 AMCorrect, which is why I suggested further down registering the delivery afterward via shipping as a letter, which here seems to be seen as a "trick".

MentorSep 8, 2026 at 10:11 AMWell @rudi03327 it’s a bit sneaky to offer shipping, deliver the item yourself (even though no pickup was offered), and then mark it as "shipped," don’t you think?
Be that as it may, sellers and buyers have to stick to the rules, otherwise there are problems like the ones you’re having now. And that delays the payouts.

MentorSep 8, 2026 at 9:41 AMYou have offered and sold the item 137223033328 with shipping as a DHL parcel. Therefore, the Ebay algorithm requires proof of shipment and delivery for release.
Everything else has already been written to you by @perfect-sally .

OPSep 8, 2026 at 9:50 AMThanks as well. You never stop learning... At the DHL drop-off, the package dimensions were accepted, but not the girth measurements because the parcel had an unwieldy U-shape. At least I met the delivery deadline...

MentorSep 8, 2026 at 10:04 AMYou also can't necessarily prove the delivery date.

MentorSep 8, 2026 at 9:26 AMA signature on an invoice is not accepted by ebay as delivery or handover.
A shipment confirmation and a delivery confirmation are required if shipping was selected.
If pickup was selected, you need the pickup code.
If you have none of that, payout can take up to 30 days.
It’s not a good idea to deviate from your stated details.

OPSep 8, 2026 at 9:32 AMThanks, no freight forwarder was willing to transport this item.
Would it make sense to send a delivery afterward (letter form here from eBay) with shipping confirmation and the signed invoice to the recipient? The customer then confirmed receipt of the goods upon receiving the letter.

MentorSep 8, 2026 at 9:34 AMAs I said, stuff like that isn't accepted. And you really shouldn't even start with tricks like that on eBay.
You don't offer such items with shipping, but only for pickup, then these problems don't even arise.

OPSep 8, 2026 at 9:44 AMMy written request to ebay for the bulky goods delivery option was not answered.
My suggestion was merely a question, no trick...
