Seller Protection Needed
Summary: salmart24 seeks advice on handling a return claim for an air cooler that a customer ordered and returned at the end of the return period. They express concern about the timing and reason for the return, as the product was delivered on time, and they question how to challenge such inconsistent claims to protect sellers. perfect-sally suggests checking whether the seller is classified as private, as this could affect return rights, while bootyooty points out the 30-day return policy but dismisses the idea that the seller could be private.
I need advice regarding order 03-14941-56151. The customer ordered an air cooler on 22 July and it was delivered on 29 July. We offer a 30-day return policy.
The customer used the product for almost the entire return period and opened a return on the 29th day, selecting “I don't need that anymore.” However, they claimed the item was delivered very late and they needed it sooner. Tracking clearly shows delivery on 29 July.
This is a seasonal product, so the timing and reason for the return appear inconsistent with the delivery record.
What protection do sellers have in such situations? How can I challenge this return and ensure sellers are protected from potentially abusive or inconsistent return claims? I would appreciate practical advice from experienced eBay sellers.

Mentor2 weeks ago · EditedEither this is another error on eBay, but it shows me that you're a private seller, and I also don't see any legal information at all.
If you're actually selling privately, your "customers" also have no right of return. Unless you offer that voluntarily.

Mentor2 weeks agoHe does that @perfect-sally a 30-day right of withdrawal is granted.
But “private” can hardly be the right word.... 👎🏻
