Package not picked up
Today a shipment came back to me because the buyer didn't pick it up. I had to pay 10 euros to DHL for return shipping. What should I do now?

·2 weeks ago@barbiexerox Hey. 🙂 You can deduct both the shipping costs and the costs incurred for the return shipping from the refund.
@perfect-sally Thanks so much for tagging. 💖
Best regards,

Mentor2 weeks ago@nina@ebay I still have a question about that. Since it isn't done via a purchase cancellation and a full refund, what does that mean for the rating? Can the buyer leave a negative / neutral review and if so, will that be deleted?

Mentor2 weeks ago@nina@ebay did my question about this get buried, or did the tag not come through?

·2 weeks ago@perfect-sally Please excuse me, I had overlooked the mention. A review can be left. If it violates guidelines, removal can be initiated.
Kind regards,
Nina

Mentor2 weeks ago@nina@ebay well, if that doesn't result in a full refund, it's quite possible that the buyer leaves negative feedback. And eBay itself says that this and that can be deducted from the refund. And those neutral or negative ratings wouldn't necessarily have to violate any guidelines. So the seller runs the risk that if they do that and only issue a partial refund, they could later end up stuck with a bad rating even though the recommendation for a partial refund also came from eBay?
Do you think that's fair?

Mentor2 weeks ago@anna_s@ebay since Nina unfortunately no longer responded to my reply, I’m asking you to please write a bit more about it once again. I’d like to have this clarified, namely to what extent eBay will then remove negative reviews if things are handled as previously described.
Many thanks 🤗

·2 weeks agoHello @perfect-sally
good that you asked.
If the rating then refers to the not full refund, which the seller was however rightly allowed to deduct due to the buyer’s culpable conduct, the rating can be removed.
Kind regards
Anna

Mentor2 weeks agoEither cancel the purchase and refund it in full, or refund it via the purchase details and deduct the shipping costs.
But I need an eBay employee to ask how far you can or may deduct the "penalty postage".
@nina@ebay how does that work? Thanks
And as a private seller, just don't ship abroad! At least with the 10 € you're still getting off relatively lightly. You could also lose both the money and the goods.

Mentor2 weeks agoHey, hey @barbiexerox
if I were you, I’d first ask the buyer what exactly went wrong with the delivery. Maybe it wasn’t their fault at all and the shipping provider messed it up.
If it’s the buyer’s fault, cancel the purchase and under the Purchase details
after deducting the shipping costs, issue a partial refund.
