Someone sent AI photos, what to do?
Summary: mstz2a sent a cap from Germany to a buyer in the UK, who claims the package was damaged despite the delivery photo showing it dry. mstz2a suspects the buyer used AI to fake photos of the damage to get a refund. After contacting eBay, they were advised to wait for further action. They are seeking advice on how to proceed, considering a report of another person having success by getting the scammer's account deleted.
I sent a cap to a buyer in the UK from Germany.
Claims the package got wet and damaged in transit when it shows the proof of delivery photo completely dry.
You can tell its AI, if you really look closely.
Even AI couldnt regenerate clear text on the labels, and the sizing on the cap which were a dead giveaway.
I contacted ebay they told me to wait until they can step in.
The buyer is still lying about it, when there is proof his photos were fake just to try get a refund and keep the item.
What is the best method to go about this? Someone else on reddit managed to get the scammer's account deleted, thats the route I want to take.

MentorSep 16, 2026 at 5:52 AMHey @mstz2a accounts won't be deleted here on demand.
Whether and how ebay decides, you'll see; you were told to wait a bit longer.
