Troll, hacked account
Summary: iso-1123 reports problems on eBay where bids came in from countries that weren’t allowed and a joke bidder was reported. Despite changing the password, another bid from the US wasn’t paid, and there is a suspicion that the account was hacked. perfect-sally and voli-maus suggest reviewing and adjusting the exclusion rules for certain delivery locations.
Hello community,
I listed an item on Ebay, bidders from Europe were allowed to bid, not internationally. I received bids from Germany, China and the USA. There was already one fake bidder. They were reported.
After relisting, someone from the USA bid again and didn’t pay. I’ve now changed my password and hope that the matter is settled. Apparently my account was hacked. Ebay didn’t do anything.
Has anyone had similar experiences? Thanks for any feedback

Mentor2 weeks agoHi @iso-1123
what makes you think that your account was hacked?
If bidders from outside Europe can bid / buy, that has nothing to do with a hacked account, but with a country exclusion in your account, as others here have already written.
What is Ebay supposed to do here?
Best wishes from the Baltic Sea

Mentor2 weeks agoHello @iso-1123 ,
you don't have any country exclusions
Exclude delivery locations

Mentor2 weeks ago · EditedIf everyone can bid, you may not have explicitly excluded the countries you don't ship to.
And besides, a bidder from abroad could also have a German delivery address, in which case the exclusion wouldn't help either.
I would also advise you not to ship abroad at all if you don't want to risk losing BOTH money AND goods!
