I sold an expensive private used item at the beginning of November 2025 (four-figure sum). Shipping with DHL and tracking number. I received the large amount from Ebay into my checking account in November 2025. Some time later, the buyer resold my item (with my photos from the Ebay listing!) through another platform. Internationally, with several hundred euros profit. So far, so good. Just over 90 days later (mid-February), the buyer opened a dispute and is demanding their money back. Ebay first blocks my payouts. I object. The decision is now with "the payment service provider"; I don't know which one that is. The day before yesterday, at the beginning of March 2026, I receive ("Ebay s.a.r.l"., my address) a large package from the buyer, but with a cheap item that you can buy new in a music store in the Czech Republic for about 140 euros. 1.: What am I supposed to do with the wrong item? 2.: I explicitly excluded returns and warranty, does anyone care? 3.: How is Ebay supposed to withhold my money when it's already in my account? 4.: If I don't know the payment service provider, how am I supposed to contact them? I see this as fraud, in which, if successful, the payment service provider, Ebay, or I will be harmed.
