Phone call with customer service is immediately terminated
Summary: xtian_apostata reports difficulties reaching customer service by phone, as calls drop after a few seconds. In the past, the connection worked without any problems. perfect-sally suggests calling the service themselves, which xtian_apostata finds unfriendly. Other participants, including petersmodellbahnstuebchen and bootyooty, discuss that there is a lack of specific details to better understand the problem, and confirm the usual practice of calling yourself. voli-maus offers support if the issue is described in more detail.
Hello everyone,
For a few days now I’ve been asking for calls from eBay customer service, as I need advice on solving a problem that can’t come from AI.
Over 10 times now, employees have already tried to contact me by phone.
The result every time: the line stays silent and the call is disconnected after a few seconds.
All my private calls work without any problems - where could the issue be?
In the past, eBay customer service was able to reach me by phone without any problems, under the same conditions as now...
Many thanks for your support and best regards!

In your phone's call log, long-press the failed eBay call, mark it as "not spam", add eBay Germany to your contacts list, then the callback should work too.

Mentor2 weeks ago@xtian_apostata one more important note:
Remove the link and blurb about the online dispute resolution platform from the legal notice, otherwise that can cause trouble
The platform hasn’t existed for over a year now.

Mentor2 weeks agoThe WRB is also contradictory if we're already on the subject of the legal information.
30 days return and in the WRB it says 1 month, that's not the same thing 😉

Mentor2 weeks agoHello @xtian_apostata ,
nobody can know what the reason is for the call being cut off.
Maybe someone can help you here if you describe your issue?
Please do not publish any data.

OP2 weeks agoMany thanks for your reply.
Until about a week ago, being called by customer service was not a problem at all.
Now no proper connection is being established and after a few seconds the call drops.
Of course I can call eBay myself too, but at the moment there are problems with account verification and it really (!) takes forever before you can speak to a human being.
perfect-sally
Mentor2 weeks agoWhy don’t you call them yourself if the callback doesn’t work?

Mentor2 weeks ago · EditedHey @xtian_apostata
What exactly is unfriendly about the answer from @perfect-sally ?
You're raising issues with customer service here without mentioning any concrete details about your problem.
Among other things, this forum is also set up to provide pointers toward solutions for specific problems. However, none of us can consult a crystal ball or tarot cards.

Mentor2 weeks agoIs there something wrong with the answer? Isn't that enough for you? I also have powdered sugar and a belly brush for you!
bootyooty
Mentor2 weeks agoGood day @xtian_apostata I see that differently and don't think it's right of you to use the word "always." We've been asking for years here why users don't call themselves, and there's nothing unfriendly about that at all!
Why the connection wasn't maintained, no one here can know either.
But especially when it's about something important like an account verification, you're also expected to do your part and want to solve the problem as quickly as possible.
