Hello everyone, I’d like to get your take on a recent eBay purchase, as the situation is starting to seem increasingly strange to me. Yesterday I bought digital tickets for a concert on eBay via Buy It Now for €1,500 and already paid by credit card. The contact came about because the seller had originally listed the tickets by auction and wrote in the description that he was open to Buy It Now offers. I made him an offer, which he accepted, and then he created a Buy It Now listing, which I used. What’s problematic now is this: According to the seller, the tickets will only be transferred digitally a few days before the event (end of May)Shipping costs were still charged and tracking information was providedEven after asking, I haven’t received any proof (e.g. booking confirmation)The seller wanted to contact me by phone, but hasn’t gotten back to me and has been putting me off ever sinceEspecially concerning: he didn’t end the original auction, even though he told me he only had two tickets – that auction kept running and apparently was sold as wellI’m worried that, because of the listed shipping and the tracking ID, the seller is trying to signal to eBay that I’ve received the tickets. Has anyone ever had a similar situation, or do you see any clear warning signs here? Thanks a lot for your thoughts!
