VAT identification number is missing or incorrect
Summary: de-logistic has registered a new eBay account and faced a restriction notification due to issues with their VAT ID. perfect-sally and nina@ebay suggested ensuring all details match perfectly with records at the Federal Central Tax Office (BZSt) and checking the completeness of business information. Despite verifying details with official documents, de-logistic continues to experience issues. mia@ebay advised that discrepancies remain and recommended checking with the BZSt for any differences, as they may have data not updated from the Tax Office. perfect-sally also pointed out missing legal commercial information which de-logistic has since updated.

I have registered a new eBay account and now I am getting a message from eBay that the account will be restricted because my VAT number is not stored or is not quite correct.
I have stored my VAT number and it is correct too....checked it again just to be sure.
I don't know where I should turn....contacting eBay leads to nothing
Please let me know what I can do or how I can contact eBay properly and not just through a bot

I checked the letter from the tax office with the assignment of the VAT ID and company name + address and entered it on eBay exactly as stated there. Unfortunately, no success
Company name with owner's name and business address.
Company name with owner's name and home address.
Only company name with home address.
Only company name with business address.
Only owner's name with home address.
Only owner's name business address
then tried the same with de-logistik ..so I swapped the c for a k and tried all the versions mentioned above. Unfortunately, it still doesn't work

dear @nina@ebay is taking another look at it.
Have you tried contacting ebay directly.
You can find a phone number in ebay’s legal notice.
Maybe it’s just a tiny little thing that’s causing the issue.
It could be a hyphen, capitalization, e.g. for street, or an abbreviation.

many thanks for your feedback. Nina has only been in this department since this afternoon, so I’m getting back to you.
The last check with the Federal Central Tax Office was carried out on 09/07/26 and unfortunately we have not received approval again. We only ever receive a notice from the Federal Central Tax Office; we cannot view the details stored there. During the query, the information for the owner and the street were again flagged as differing details.
Please check the details again carefully and, if necessary, have the Federal Central Tax Office send you information about what is stored differently there. The Federal Central Tax Office may have other details on file than the tax office. These authorities do not always exchange information, so changes or moves may not have been reported to the Federal Central Tax Office.

there’s all sorts of things missing that a business seller has to provide, for example the WRB.
The lovely @nina@ebay will let you know what’s wrong.

Mentor1 month agoFirst of all, eBay has legal notice page where you can find ways to get in touch.
And it also doesn't necessarily have to be because of your VAT ID because all the details in eBay must match the details at the BZSt 100%. Even the slightest deviation is rejected.
