Different billing and shipping address not possible?
Summary: sixfischers expresses frustration about receiving invoices at the delivery address instead of their own billing address after ordering parts for projects. They argue this causes complications when parts are delivered directly to clients or workshops. voli-maus and perfect-sally suggest checking account settings, while petersmodellbahnstuebchen explains that eBay transactions typically include only certain address types and recommends using external software for more complex needs. sixfischers decides to avoid eBay for business transactions due to these issues.
Hello everyone,
why do I get the invoice from many sellers sent to the delivery address and not to my address? Is it technically not possible to submit the delivery address separately from my address (buyer = invoice recipient)?
It is of course complete nonsense if the address of my workshop is on the invoice for a car part I ordered. Or the address of one of my customers when a component is delivered directly to her. I am the buyer and invoice recipient; if I enter an alternative delivery address, shouldn't that automatically change the billing address too?
That means I regularly have to call sellers and ask for a corrected invoice. And of course eBay customer service is not reachable.
Annoyed.

Mentor1 week agoHi @sixfischers
no matter which account you use to write here, there are three addresses listed on the eBay invoices:
Buyer’s delivery address
Seller’s sender address
Buyer’s registration address
Other contractual partners, such as invoice recipients or payers, are not предусмотрено on eBay. eBay is just a sales platform and not SAP.
If a seller needs more because of increased customer inquiries, they’ll just have to look for an external invoicing program.

Mentor1 week agoHi @sixfischers
also welcome to the 21st century. To the cases you mentioned in your opening post:
"It is of course complete nonsense if the address of my workshop is on the invoice for a car part I ordered."
Here your workshop is the delivery address, your registration address is the buyer’s billing address.
"Or the address of one of my customers when a component is delivered directly to her. I am the person placing the order and the invoice recipient; if I enter an alternative delivery address, that shouldn’t also change the billing address straight away"
Here the customer’s address is the delivery address and your sender address is the billing address. If you order the item for someone, you get the real invoice from your seller. Ebay simply isn’t set up for drop-shipping.
Kind regards from the Baltic Sea

OP1 week agoThanks Peter,
eBay also seems to transmit only a single data record to commercial sellers -- the delivery address. And the seller then uses that as the billing address as well. Unfortunately, this is a problem that I have now also found in other discussions. That's why I'm trying more and more to order directly from commercial sellers and avoid eBay.
Best wishes back from the foothills of the Alps!

Mentor1 week agoHi @sixfischers
so as a commercial seller I always receive 2 address records from my customers:
Shipping address
Billing address

Mentor1 week agoHello @sixfischers ,
which account are you talking about ?
It looks like you haven't bought anything with this account of yours.
Invoices to female customers ?? 🤔
You alone are responsible for keeping your data up to date.
perfect-sally
Mentor1 week agoAnd on top of that, if you buy with this account, you don’t even have the right to an invoice because it isn’t marked as commercial!
sixfischers
OP1 week agoSorry, that's nonsense. I bought something today with my account. And that has nothing to do with the timeliness of the data, but is apparently a systematic problem on eBay. Welcome to the 21st century.
perfect-sally
Mentor1 week agoIt's more that if you buy with this account, you actually expect invoices and are lucky that sellers issue them. As I said, there is no entitlement to that, but as a business user in another account or area you should know that too.
voli-maus
Mentor1 week agoDo you have clients for whom you buy something?
sixfischers
OP1 week agoFor larger projects, for which I have components or other materials delivered directly to customers.

Mentor1 week agoAs a private user, do you have female customers?
I wish you all the best .

OP1 week ago · EditedWhy do I have to be logged in as a business user if I'm only shopping? That's news to me. In every store (with commercial vendors) I also have a right as a private customer to a proper invoice showing VAT. For amounts over 200 euros, the SELLER MUST also include my full address on the invoice, no matter whether I'm buying as a private individual or as a self-employed person wants to write the whole thing off later.
