Seller can no longer find the purchased item.
Hey everyone, I bought an item and, after the delivery deadline had passed, opened a case (item not received). Now the seller says that I have to wait for my money until the end of the resolution period, and that she can’t initiate the refund earlier. Is that correct?

Hello @ede_sowieso ,
thanks a lot for your post.
Your seller can refund the amount directly if they go to Selling - Orders - Purchase details. Under "More actions" they can click "Send refund" and you’ll receive it right away.
If they wait, it will go as @perfect-sally wrote.
@perfect-sally Thanks for the tag 🤗
Best regards

If you report an item you never received, then the seller should be able to issue a refund right away, because if they wait out the resolution period and the buyer then contacts eBay, eBay will issue the refund and the seller gets a defect on their account.
In my opinion, the seller isn't telling the truth, but since eBay has constant problems of one kind or another, it could be that the seller can't refund at all. If you post the item number, an eBay employee can take a look and clear things up.
@selina_b@ebay could you take a look please? Thanks

"After you have informed the seller that you have not received the item or want to return it, the seller has 3 business days to help you. You can check regularly whether there is new information and what you need to do next."
In my opinion, though, he doesn’t have to wait for the deadline.
Kind regards from the Baltic Sea
