Seller asking for phone number? Is that normal?
Is it common for sellers to ask for your phone number after a purchase?
Can you imagine what purpose that would serve? Unfortunately, I sent my phone number via the regular email server.
But I'm worried about whether it could be misused, because I paid by PayPal and credit card

if the seller ships within Germany in the normal way by letter or parcel / package, he usually doesn't need a phone number, so I do sometimes save 123456789 - but if it's shipped by freight carrier, I do store the correct number
for shipments from abroad, however, the shipping company may at times require the number

Mentor1 month agoFor shipping within Germany, at least for the shipment itself, no phone number is needed.
Just ask the seller what purpose they need it for. And if misuse is intended, then surely you didn't also send your login details and your password ;)
