I hope someone can help me. I bought a Starlink terminal on eBay.
Order number 18-14729-38031
The item was marked as shipped by the seller, and shortly after that I received a text message from the seller via the eBay app saying it was a mistake, the tracking number was wrong. The item would be shipped in the next 10-12 business days and I would then receive the correct tracking number.
After that period, however, nothing happened; whenever I asked about it, the seller kept putting me off and then stopped responding altogether. The item never arrived. If you enter the supposedly wrong tracking number with DHL and then try to confirm with the recipient ZIP code that you are the recipient, you get the message that the ZIP code is wrong. In my opinion, that shows that the shipment never went to my address at all.
I eventually disputed the purchase through eBay Buyer Protection, but unfortunately it was quickly decided in the seller's favor. I suspect it was an automated review that only checked for a tracking number. I then filed an appeal and attached screenshots of the seller's messages, including the message in which he says the tracking number is wrong.
My questions for you would be:
has anyone ever experienced a similar case?
is there a way to have the case reviewed by an eBay employee?
