Seller sent the wrong item and is no longer responding
Summary: lewe-1158 reports that they ordered a 27-inch monitor, but received a 24-inch monitor with a lower resolution. The seller is being uncooperative and may be using dropshipping with Amazon merchandise. perfect-sally advises opening a return, since the item is not as described. lewe-1158 has already filed a dispute, but it was rejected, and has now opened a second one. perfect-sally explains that a return during the buyer protection period can only be opened once.
I bought a monitor that, according to the eBay listing, was supposed to be 27 inches and have a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels. However, what was delivered was a 24-inch monitor with only 1920 × 1080 pixels.
The seller keeps making excuses on eBay and so far hasn’t really been cooperative. What’s also noticeable is that he apparently ships Amazon goods via dropshipping.
However, the seller has over 6,000 positive reviews, which is why I’m unsure how best to proceed.
My question is therefore: What options do I have in this case, and what should I actually do now?

MentorAug 15, 2026 at 10:38 PM · EditedDon't mess around and open a return with the reason that the item is not as described. The seller has to pay for the return shipping and refund you once they receive it back. I hope the buyer protection period hasn't expired!
However, you shouldn't expect any cooperation from the seller anymore since you already left them negative feedback. And if the seller contacts eBay about the rating, it will probably even get deleted because it violates the guidelines!

The only way is, as written, to open a return, but that only works once during the buyer protection period.
One more question about that: didn’t you even look at his ratings before buying? It does say quite a lot that the seller is not really reliable.
I definitely wouldn’t have bought there.
