Contact seller: message input technically not possible
Summary: gletschergarten reported difficulties contacting a seller because sending a message wasn’t technically possible. voli-maus suggested trying to write the message in the field below the "Copy" button. gletschergarten noted that they had used the wrong field and thanked them after the issue was resolved.
Hello everyone,
I have a technical problem that I apparently am not the only one with (it is discussed in part on external sites outside of eBay itself): When I want to contact a seller and click on "Message" for that purpose (the only button for that, which is shown to me at all), the message form does open, but the only thing that works is the following: I can tick the box for "Send copy to my email address" (and untick it again). Entering a message text is not possible. As a test, I moved the cursor over the "Send message" button (without clicking). If the button were responsive, you would see some kind of symbol (cursor arrow, a hand, or whatever); but that does not happen either.
Important: What I described here happens with all listings I tried it on, not just with individual sellers.
The help pages describe ways to contact a seller - but the buttons mentioned there, especially on listing pages, are not shown to me in a single listing (really not a single one! Does anyone here know the relevant help article and can confirm this?). Other ways to contact a seller (instead of directly on a listing page) described on the help pages also do not work for me (sometimes buttons were shown, but message entry was again not possible; sometimes I did not get the corresponding buttons at all, instead I got a puzzling message saying something like "We found no transactions" or something similar).
Have you had similar experiences? Any ideas for a solution? Thanks a lot! Best regards

you write in the white field, which is shown to you via the "Copy" button.

many thanks; that's exactly where I had tried it (just now, in response to your answer, once again). Unfortunately, it didn't work for me from the outset (and still doesn't). Apparently I at least didn't do anything wrong then; that's also good to know.

I only now realize which white field the message is written in: not in the large one, but in the one that is small (at least before you’ve written anything): I actually overlooked the perfectly readable "Hallo" in your screenshot, with which you showed me the right field.
