Seller agrees to take it back, doesn't send a return label and no longer responds, case was closed by eBay
Summary: boddenfisher reports a problem with a purchased filter head that doesn’t fit and has initiated a return process with eBay. The seller promised a return label, but after the necessary information was exchanged, he no longer responds, and eBay has closed the case. boddenfisher is looking for ways to speak to a real contact person at eBay or to file a complaint. bootyooty points out that the return label can be sent through the eBay system and asks an eBay employee for help.
Hello, I bought a filter head for my sand filter (pool). It doesn’t fit. I requested a return. The seller agreed and said he would send me a return label to my email address.
I sent him the requested photos and my email address, and since then it’s been quiet. After that I followed up several times, but the seller isn’t responding. Now I read that the process has been closed.
Is there a way to contact eBay by phone? (I mean, talk to a Homo sapiens?) Or are there other ways to complain? It can’t be that a case is irrevocably closed without checking the chat history

Mentor2 weeks agoHello @boddenfisher
Thanks for reaching out to us. You purchased the item on 18.07.2026. The return was therefore opened outside the 30-day buyer protection period, so it was automatically closed. At this point, the return can only be handled directly through the seller. Unfortunately, a return through eBay is not possible. I wish you a quick resolution.
@bootyooty Thanks for the tag.
Best regards
Melina

Mentor2 weeks agoHey, @boddenfisher the seller doesn’t need your email address to send you a return label. They can do that just as well through the eBay system, it will get through too.
@melina@ebay can you take a look and see what’s going on with the seller who’s asking for an email address?
