Hello dear community,
I recently tried to sell an electric compactor on eBay, but was prevented from doing so. I’d be interested to know whether other members have already had similar experiences with certain products. Why are there such restrictions on some items? How do you deal with this, and what tips can you give to avoid or solve such problems?

here you'll find a list of the guidelines by which certain items may not be sold on eBay.
Unfortunately, I can't assess whether your listing falls under that, since I don't know what you mean by an electric cooking appliance.

Mentor1 week agoYou’re supposed to be a private seller, according to your own details! If at all, such items may only be offered by businesses with special authorization. And yes, there are some items that are subject to such "restrictions". And if you want to avoid restrictions or blocks, you should stop your further similar items immediately!
And you should urgently think about your status as an allegedly private seller! I don’t see any private trading here with the current item quantity of 133 listings, 69 of them new goods.
You are typically acting as an entrepreneur or commercially if you:
buy items to resell them
sell items that you have made for resale
regularly sell large quantities of items
sell similar goods over a longer period, especially new goods
frequently sell new items that you did not acquire for your own use
According to case law, the following are considered indicators of commercial activity:
Operating an eBay shop
Number of current sales: If many items are continually sold over a longer period, this is generally a commercial seller
Staggered sale of a private collection over many years
Type of items sold (new or used goods, value): The sale of several similar navigation devices was classified as proof of commercial activity – as was the offer of 250 batteries in various sizes with reference to the availability of larger quantities.
a website or the use of advertising descriptions that make a professional impression
