Hello everyone,
I sold a jacket here and now the seller has relisted the jacket with screenshots of my 8 photos, taken by me. Unfortunately, eBay isn't responding to my report and I don't know what to do... Do you have any ideas besides a lawyer?

Mentor1 week agoYou have to enforce your own copyright yourself or sign up for the VeRo program at eBay if that’s possible for private sellers too.
But you shouldn’t make a big fuss with any reports, because you’re not exactly selling little yourself either, and lots of it is new merchandise as an allegedly private seller 😕

OP1 week agoHi, I already tried to sign up for the VeRo program, but apparently it’s only for companies. In the meantime, I also contacted the seller and she removed the listing. Otherwise, I sell a lot of new goods because my mom has moved into a care home and I cleared out her apartment — that’s all there is to say about it...

Mentor1 week agoHello @emst2014 next time you send the user a cease-and-desist letter/invoice yourself for using your photos.
Of course it’s not allowed to just swipe photos from the net or from other people.
But I think a lot of people don’t even know that; back then, as VK, I labeled my photos with my username, right in the middle of the image so nobody would even get the idea of using my photos 😊

OP1 week agoHello, I reacted so sensitively to this because I once had to pay almost €300 to a hired lawyer (for a company) whose photo I had used (from the internet). I even had to sign a cease-and-desist letter for it.
But nothing happens to this seller... Probably because I’m just a private seller!

Mentor1 week agoThe person who committed the infringement must also bear the costs. If you had had them sent a formal cease-and-desist notice, they would also have had to bear the costs of your lawyer.
