Loss
I sold amber jewelry on 23/9/2026. It never arrived with the buyer; the package was torn open and the jewelry stolen. The post then repackaged it and sent it on. Of course the buyer is upset, and now I have to refund the purchase price?

Mentor1 week agoAccording to your own details, you're sending this as a parcel or as a letter! In that case, you're yourself responsible for any loss, since Post / DHL assumes no liability whatsoever.
For slightly more expensive items, you should only send them with proper tracking and liability coverage from the shipping provider!
Unfortunately, you have to cover the loss and reimburse the buyer. I seriously doubt you'll get anything from the shipping provider.

Mentor1 week agoHey there, @moritz10_4
yeah, you’re not going to get around issuing a refund to the buyer.
Send DHL a loss report. Maybe the jewelry fell off the sorting belt and can’t be assigned now.
A package is insured too. I don’t know whether that only applies if the whole package is lost or also if the contents are lost. You should look into that.
