Hello everyone!
I’m currently facing a challenge with shipping my postcard collection, which I’m selling off on eBay. I have a discount offer that kicks in from the second card onward, to both accommodate the buyer and minimize my shipping effort. However, it has now happened that a buyer paid for seven items individually, and eBay is now asking me to enter seven tracking numbers. That would mean I’d have to send each item separately as registered mail.
I’d like to know whether any of you have had similar experiences and how you handle such situations. Is there a way to combine the shipments to reduce the effort, and still offer a discount instead? Just for info, I do offer free shipping.

In this case, you should check with the buyer.
Offer them a subsequent credit if you ship together.

OP3 weeks agoHello, I’d love to do that and of course the buyer would too ;-) because that would be a total of €23, and only the post office would be happy about that. But eBay does want a tracking number, right? Otherwise the other 6 items count as not shipped. Or am I doing something wrong there? I recently had a buyer with 5 items who only paid at the very end, and that wasn’t a problem. I had sent it registered, and then I just gave him a refund on every additional item.

You can add the tracking number to each individual order anyway

OP3 weeks agoOh man, thanks. That’s really embarrassing now, ChatGPT just told me that too. I thought that a tracking number for multiple orders wouldn’t be accepted. I haven’t sold anything for ages, years ago it was somehow different, that’s how I remember it... Back then, combining things was super easy. But ok, thanks a lot, that was a big mistake on my part. Then greetings to the Baltic Sea, we’ll finally be there again from Saturday too ;-)
