Hello everyone,
I’ve now tried several times in vain to set up my payout account for selling. It’s a regular German checking account with Vivid (handled via Banking Circle S.A.) with a DE IBAN.
Although the function “allow direct debits” is explicitly enabled in my Vivid app for the relevant Pocket, the eBay system immediately cancels the setup with the error message that the bank is “not compatible”. Manually entering the IBAN unfortunately produces the same result.

I’ve already tried several times to reach eBay customer service by phone. The automatic callback system does call me, but once I pick up the line stays completely silent and hangs up automatically after a few seconds. I’ve already checked and disabled my iPhone settings regarding spam filters. Since the help pages now always only direct me here to the community, I’m hoping for your help.
Is there an active eBay moderator here who can unlock my account for manual verification (via Vivid account statement upload) or forward an internal ticket to the payments team?

I have reviewed the process.

Your Vivid bank account details can’t be stored because they aren’t supported by our system. I therefore recommend that you add a different bank account.

thank you very much for checking, but I can't be satisfied with this standard response.

Technically speaking, my Vivid account is a full-fledged German checking account (DE IBAN), which participates in the SEPA system without any problems. When shopping on eBay, your system has no problem whatsoever debiting regular SEPA direct debits from exactly this account.

The fact that the account is now being blocked for payouts is a clear violation of Article 9(2) of the EU SEPA Regulation (No. 260/2012) – the ban on IBAN discrimination. Companies are not allowed to exclude payment accounts from the SEPA area without reason or on the basis of internal whitelists.

I therefore kindly ask you to forward my case to the relevant specialist department (payment processing / compliance) so that my account can be enabled for manual verification via bank statement. A blanket exclusion of legally permissible bank accounts is not compliant with the law.
