Why isn't my auction being shown?
Summary: adhs-mama is having trouble finding her auction in eBay search results, even though it is visible under the brand search “Zeiss.” perfect-sally explains that it can take up to 24 hours for an item to be listed, while petersmodellbahnstuebchen advises using the advanced search with exact terms. The discussion clarifies that if it is set to “new,” an older relisted offer may not appear as new, which affects visibility.
I typed "Diamagazin" into the search.
My auction title is as follows:
7x ZEISS IKON 100 stack box with 2 magazines each for 50 slides each Diamagazin
Then I set Newly listed .
My auction doesn't show up!
Only when I click on Zeiss under brand does my auction appear.
Why? What am I doing wrong?

Mentor1 week agoIt can take 24 hours or longer before an item is listed!

OP1 week agoBut if I set it to Zeiss, I can see the article.
Just not when I get all articles shown 🤔

Mentor1 week agoI can see the item in your offers too, even without using the link.
And you actually see the item in your own account right away, only other users can’t see it immediately. As I said, sometimes it takes 24h and sometimes longer depending on the item.

OP1 week agoThat’s all well and good, but
Please try
On E-Bay enter diamagazine in the search
Set to Germany
Sort Recently listed
Category dia magazines and frames
my auction doesn’t appear.
Now please tick Zeiss under brand.
And just like that you can see my auction.
Why only when the Zeiss box is ticked?
Why not before?

Mentor1 week agoYes, you're right. But why and how and why this is so only eBay could answer, but they would surely not let anything out about it.

Mentor1 week agoHi @adhs-mama
In the advanced search with "Diamagazin", use the exact terms option, then you'll find your Diamagazin pretty quickly under Best Results.
When searching for newly listed, it gets difficult, since the item was first listed on 28.07.
Best wishes from the Baltic Sea

Mentor1 week agoJust as an extra note, because approval takes longer:
When searching for Newly listed, also mark Auctions, then it will be easier to find:

OP1 week agoHello Peter,
thank you, but who on earth, when searching for something, enters exact terms? Only people who really know their way around E-Bay 🤔
So that means if I want to appear under Newly Listed, I always have to create a new auction and not go to relist, right? 🤔😢😠😡
Now I also know why no one looks at my auction. There are way too many such or similar auctions and if I don't appear under Newly Listed, it's pure luck if anyone sees me.
Best, SUSI

Hi Susi,
yes, unfortunately that’s how it is, but if an offer keeps being reposted since July, then it’s really not a new offer, but an old one that didn’t sell.
As a seller on eBay, you just have to get used to seeing it that way.
Best wishes from the Baltic Sea
