What's actually going on at Ebay?
Someone is interested in my item and makes a price suggestion. I want to contact them. There’s also a button: Contact!
But when you go to the page, there’s no way to message the customer.
So I enter my item’s product number to get in touch with Ebay that way. Result: They don’t know the product number.
So I try to contact Ebay through HELP. The page opens and an assistant appears on the right-hand side, with a window below it to type your reply. But the attempt to reply fails; not a single letter is accepted. This used to be a site that worked well, but I no longer understand what’s going on now. I might as well save myself any further offers.

Mentor2 weeks agoQuestion about this: if a prospect makes you a price suggestion, why does the prospect need to be contacted before you accept the price proposal?
Communication BEFORE a purchase and after a price proposal is not really welcome on eBay. Once it’s bought and paid for, you can write as much as you want.

OP2 weeks agoWhether eBay likes it or not, I couldn't care less. With my reply, I can get the customer to accept the price I've set. Seriously, where are we supposed to be that we let eBay dictate whether we get in touch with interested parties or not? I suggest you try a bit of self-reflection, maybe then something will occur to you.

Mentor2 weeks agoNext question: if you don’t want to accept price suggestions, why offer the option at all?
Self-reflection always starts with yourself.
And if you don’t agree with eBay’s methods, why are you offering your goods here?

Mentor2 weeks agoHi @antonyd170
You can always send the buyer a counteroffer. Maybe you can use that to persuade him to spend more.
