What else would need to be done?
Summary: snoopy-124 shared an issue regarding a transaction on eBay involving a second-hand Me4rklin model train. Hello,
the purchase was quite a while ago already; at first the customer only paid after 1 week, supposedly he wasn’t at home and had bid in cash. He said thanks for waiting. The package was on its way for a very long time and the tracking was quite unusual (parcel shop. After 14 days came the question where the dealer invoice was; I had included the ebay invoice showing the dealer, and I hadn’t received anything else.
4 days later there were supposed to be stains on the packaging....according to my pictures in the listing, but there weren’t! and the pipette and an accessory bag were missing. I had bought the locomotive used too and it was fully detailed. The pipette was in the packing paper separately, probably overlooked. OK, sent an accessory bag and the pipette on to the customer.
Now the buyer is asking again how I get the stains off the packaging? As I said, there were none there for me, I offered the buyer a 10 euro discount out of goodwill to his account, I really can’t do anything more now.
Kind regards
Frank

Mentor3 weeks agoWhat does “a while ago” mean? What exactly are the buyer’s claims? Is the buyer still within the buyer protection period? (on eBay up to 30 days after delivery).

OP3 weeks agoSorry...the sale was on 14.08.2026 The buyer has not yet made any claims. But it seems like it's heading that way, because now something different is being complained about and asked about every day.
snoopy-124
OP3 weeks agothought the process could be accessed under the eBay item no.

Mentor3 weeks agoWe can call up the item under an item number, and nothing more. But you can’t see an item number here either.
If the sale was on 14.8, when was it delivered? Buyer protection on eBay runs for 30 days from the day of delivery.

Mentor3 weeks agoThen the buyer still has full buyer protection from eBay. But as long as they don't open a return and file a complaint, there isn't much you can do either. I suspect they want to drive the price down, and if the buyer doesn't want to accept your offer, there's nothing you can do. Just one more thing: refunds don't go to any buyer's account; they also have to be processed through eBay. That's also for your protection! Just think about it: the buyer would have accepted your suggestion, you transfer money to their account, and then they open a return as a complaint, and then you've already issued a partial refund, have to pay for return shipping, and fully refund because eBay doesn't have your partial refund in the system.
