How do I get eBay Buyer Protection?
Summary: hewa24 purchased a safety harness on eBay but received a warning from eBay stating the item was unsafe. After attempts to negotiate with the seller failed, they sought help with eBay's Buyer Protection. petersmodellbahnstuebchen advised to open a case for the item not matching its description and noted concerns about buying from overseas sellers. vera@ebay offered assistance by initiating a return process and advised hewa24 to act accordingly if the seller doesn't respond. I bought a fall protection device for demolition and roofing work from the seller Mysellk on Ebay. On the day of delivery, I received an email from Ebay saying that I should not use the item because it does not have approval and using it poses a danger to life.
I confronted the seller about it. He offered a 15% discount. I رفضed that and exercised my right of withdrawal. Then he offered a 25% discount and then a 50% discount. I rejected all of that because I can’t use the product due to Ebay’s warning. The seller is ignoring that and won’t refund the money or send a return label either. Obvious fraud. So I want to use Ebay buyer protection to get my money back. But I’m failing because on Ebay I always end up only on the automated help page. But it doesn’t understand what I want.
Who can help? Where do I register the buyer protection?

I found the correct item in your purchases and have started a return for you. The seller now has 3 business days to respond to the case. After that, you can contact eBay to resolve it.

Payment must be received within 3 days after the auction ends.
Why is something like this even allowed on eBay Germany??

OP3 weeks agoWith the PayPal payment, I would actually also have buyer protection. But it doesn't apply because Ebay comes first.

you can still open the payment dispute with Paypal if Ebay decides the return case in your disfavor.
If I were you, I’d wait until Ebay has decided. Otherwise Ebay would be completely out of the picture.

You need to open a case with the reason that the item does not match the description. Make sure to pay attention to the deadlines, otherwise the Ebay buyer protection expires.
Why do you buy such items from a Chinese seller? Trouble is basically inevitable if there are problems.

A look at the ratings is usually also very helpful.
