How do you get in touch with an eBay employee?

Hello. How do I reach an eBay employee to speak with them personally?

I called the customer hotline, but there’s only a recording and you’re asked a thousand questions, and then at the end it says that you can’t be connected to an employee.

Why is that? Because online it says they can be reached on weekends until 10 p.m.

I don’t understand any of this. I urgently need help from an employee, because I have a purchased item that became defective after some time, the seller said I should send it back and then I would get my money. That was on 20.08.26. But the seller isn’t sending me any address to where I should send the defective phone back.

The seller is not responding to several requests.

So how do I reach an eBay employee?

I’ve never heard that customer service is supposed to be reachable until 10 p.m. on weekends! Saturday/Sunday/holidays 9:00 – 20:00

If it seems like calling isn’t possible there, I’d keep writing to the bot “staff” several times; at some point it understands, and you get a callback, provided that a correct phone number is on file.

You did write when you contacted the seller, but not when you bought the item.

If that was more than 30 days ago, ebay can’t help anymore and ebay is then also not responsible for your consumer rights.

If the purchase really was longer ago, you can save yourself the contact with ebay too, because they can’t and won’t help.

Hi @thschie0 open the Ebay help and click on Contact Ebay. Tell the chat bot "employee" or "callback" (if necessary several times), then the callback will work. Best wishes from the Baltic Sea Peter
