Arbitrary deletion of a sales item by eBay
Summary: tornadowolle reports that an issue from his 'Flugzeug Classis Extra' series was blocked on eBay because the content allegedly violates eBay's policies. He has filed an appeal but has not received a response yet, and he finds it problematic that he can only talk to automated assistants. petersmodellbahnstuebchen suspects that the reason for the block could be related to Nazi content in the historical photos. It is also pointed out that similar listings were not blocked, and tornadowolle feels he has been treated unfairly.
A few days ago I put issues from the Flugzeug Classis Extra series, "Focke Wulf 190 part 1 to 6," up for sale. Today issue 3 from the series is being blocked by E Bay. Why? Supposedly the content is not in line with E Bay’s rules. I filed an appeal, but there’s been no response from EBay. Then I did some digging and what do I find? Two identical issues that weren’t blocked. Are they making distinctions here? We’ll see, I’m going to wait and see for now. The problem is also that you can no longer speak to any human customer service rep to sort out the issue. Only the automatic assistant, who understands nothing and gives stupid answers. I’ve been with E Bay for a long time and am actually satisfied. But this is now the height of cheekiness.

MentorJul 15, 2026 at 1:29 PMHi @tornadowolle
why don’t you mention the stated reason for removing the offers here?
I suspect that this has to do with the note about the Nazi content in the historical photos.
And Ebay just doesn’t like such listings.
Why the other offers weren’t ended, nobody here in the forum probably knows.
Best wishes from the Baltic Sea

OPJul 15, 2026 at 6:24 PMHi, eBay didn’t give a specific reason here. Just that the magazine is not in line with eBay’s policies. But the other magazines are okay, so why only this one magazine and why only with me and not with the other two as well? Because they’re commercial and I’m private? No idea.
Also, the magazines are from a German publisher -Gera Mond-
I also bought them normally at a newsstand.
I had already sold other magazines of this type before. So far, eBay hasn’t given any answer here. Maybe they don’t know the reason themselves.
Best regards back from the Baltic Sea (Flensburg) as well.
