Hi,
just a heads-up first:
I’ve been active as a private buyer on EBAY for many years and have an entirely positive status with nearly 2000 ratings.
For the past few weeks, I’ve also been selling a few higher-priced items from my collection, among other things.
For shipping, I used DHL Express each time and entered the tracking number and carrier manually in the checkout process in accordance with EBAY’s requirements.
So far I’ve always received the money quickly (about 2 days after the auction ended), even though the shipment status remained “shipped” even after delivery.
Now I have the problem that EBAY is withholding payment for an item sold last week because it has not yet been delivered. At least that’s what it says in the sales overview.
According to DHL Express, delivery was already verifiably made on Monday (which you can also see in the tracking), and on Wednesday the buyer left positive feedback.
By now I’ve called EBAY 3 times and each time I was told that they could understand all of this and that the payout would be made immediately within 24 hours.
Unfortunately, that still hasn’t happened.
Has anyone experienced something similar already, what else can I do? Or am I just being too impatient?

Please name the item number for the item in question and an eBay MA can surely say something more about it.

Mentor1 week agoAnd still there is a 30-day buyer protection that the buyer could still make use of. And if the item on eBay is not yet shown as delivered, it is clear that it will be withheld. And a confirmation or a rating is not recognized by eBay as proof of delivery.
And you can’t rely on what the phone jokers say; they tell you what you want to hear.

OP1 week agoOk, I didn't know about the "phone a friend" lifelines at all - learned something new again.
So after 30 days everything should resolve itself, as long as the buyer doesn't file a veto, am I understanding that correctly?
I just find it strange that despite an identical approach, some of my transactions went through without this stress...

Mentor1 week agoIf the buyer doesn't file a complaint, you should receive the payout at the latest after 30 days.
Ebay is kind of weird, I’d say. Sometimes they withhold it, then other times it gets paid out immediately. Other people wait forever for small amounts even though purchases before that were paid out. Ebay calls it risk management, but why, how, and what for they keep quiet about instead of clearly saying which items can have a higher withholding rate.
I think Samantha can probably say more about that, whether it was withheld and when it might be paid out.
