Too low shipping price on return label when taking back
Summary: ramses53 reports a defect with a purchase where the seller accepted the return, but entered a shipping price for the return that was too low. Because of the incorrect price, DHL won’t accept the shipment, and eBay has a shipping deadline. petersmodellbahnstuebchen advises contacting the seller and discussing the problem with them. ramses53 explains that the seller admitted the mistake but supposedly can’t correct it.
Due to a defect, the seller accepted the return. However, apparently he entered a shipping price that was too low by mistake.
DHL does not accept the price on the QR because it is too low. The shipping costs are €14.99 too little, due to hazardous goods transport.
But I have a deadline from eBay by when the item has to be shipped.
Otherwise I won't get a refund. I would also pay the shortfall so that the shipment goes back to the buyer. Because only when the shipping number is registered with DHL and the shipment has been sent do I get my money back.
What am I supposed to do?

what does the seller say about your problem? I’d confront him with this first.
Best wishes from the Baltic Sea

OP1 week agoThanks for the quick response.
The seller had originally refused to take the item back. But then, based on the evidence, accepted the return.
The seller writes that he supposedly made a typo in the return shipping price and sent the QR code incorrectly. Now he supposedly can no longer correct it.
