Deleting completed sales no longer works

The behavior you described is already known. Right now, under My eBay: Orders, deleting an order number can result in the message "Orders cannot currently be deleted." Our teams are aware of the issue and are working on a solution.
In the meantime, my recommendation would be to try the Seller Cockpit Pro; it offers more features and also an archiving function to hide completed orders from the overview and keep it clearer.
Regardless, it can make sense to keep completed orders for later proof, for example in connection with tax matters or the DAC7 reporting obligations.

I’m the same — I can’t just delete an order that easily either.
I can archive it, but then I still can’t delete it from there either :-(
Then old sales also showed up in the archive, which I was able to delete without any problems back then.
What were the "Ebayaners" thinking there, or is it a bug in the system?

Same with purchases in the "normal" tool, I can only hide them or show them again, but also not delete them - never have.

·Aug 6, 2026 at 10:50 AMHm? No, that used to be different. After all, there’s also the "Delete" function there after you’ve marked the item. That doesn’t work anymore now; the sold item shows up again right away.

the "delete function" only exists in the app, not in VCP. However, it no longer does anything there now. 😉

the technical error is:
1) on the computer, not mobile, no app, but "the old-fashioned" eBay
2) I mean "My eBay", not Seller Hub Pro.
3) in the "Orders" list there is a "delete button", where you could delete completed orders (sold items!) - so that the orders list (items bought by buyers) does not become too long and confusing. (NOT archive!)
4) Problem: if you click the delete button now, the items are not deleted, but a message now appears: "The selected items cannot currently be deleted. Please try again later."
5) Conclusion: you can no longer delete sold items (as was still usual a few days ago), but all completed orders remain. - an archive function or hide! ( there is no such thing in MY EBAY! The list just keeps getting longer.

·2 days agoHello, I’ve had the same problem for a few days now. Completed orders can no longer be deleted from the list. Then the list quickly becomes hard to keep track of. This bug should be fixed as soon as possible.
P.S. If archiving is the only thing left, where do I find the function for that?? Under "Orders" I can’t find anything at all for archiving!!!

if you’re using the browser on your PC, just open the list of orders, select the order, and choose archive via the 3 dots or "More".

I think you are using a different version (maybe you are a pro seller?). Here for us "normal" users, you could mark the item and then press the DELETE button (see below), then the item would disappear from the list.

OP2 days agoExactly, that's the problem. (in MY EBAY there is no way to archive!) The delete function doesn't work and the following text appears:
" orders cannot be deleted at the current time. Please try again later. "

OPAug 6, 2026 at 4:15 PMI think this is an absolute mess of misunderstanding here, because one person means sales and the other means their orders (purchases); because one is in MY EBAY and the other is in the SELLER COCKPIT Pro, because one is sitting at a PC and the other is on eBay with the app. The discussion - or rather the request for help with the existing problem - cannot be resolved if you don't answer exactly what is being presented as the problem.
Best wishes - but this way it won't get us anywhere.

By the way, it doesn't work independently of the browser either.
I tried it. Doesn't matter whether Chrome, Firefox or the app. With the newer seller cockpit you can archive, but you still can't delete the sold item. Not even from the archive.
It's not the end of the world, but if you want to keep things clear, you can very well do without old sales.

OP4 days agoWell, this is also some new technical bug: when I log in with my seller account and post in the forum, suddenly the account name I’m logged in with doesn’t appear, but rather my BUY account.
No, it’s not about PURCHASES, it’s about the sold items whose transaction is completely finished, sold-shipped-rated! At some point you want to delete these from the "Orders" list. That doesn’t work in "MY EBAY" at the moment.

OP3 days agoI did that, but the name doesn’t appear. But whatever, I’m slowly getting tired of so many technical errors popping up. There’s always some kind of update here, and as a result other things suddenly break. Guess you just have to live with it. Thanks for your help.

·4 days agoYou also can't delete these orders, only archive them. It works without any problems for me in Chrome.
Cleared the cache & deleted cookies? Tried another browser?

OP4 days agoUntil a few days ago, deleting orders was possible without any problems at all; there was no need to archive them. I regularly clear the cache and cookies, and Firefox works great.
It really is once again a technical error on eBay that will surely be gone again in 1-2 weeks - grin. Best regards and thanks

I want to delete things and that no longer works!
I want to delete sold items in my eBay, but they can no longer be removed from the order list, you click on DELETE, but all old sales stay in the list.

Even if I supposedly didn’t understand it: You claimed that just a few days ago you deleted orders, and I think that you didn’t delete them, but archived them.
Just do it the way the lovely @selina_b@ebay wrote.
Log in here with your relevant account and an eBay employee can check it.
