Credit should be withheld for one month
Good evening,
I have the following question: I sold something and shipped it immediately after payment was received. The buyer receives the package, the tracking on eBay confirms this too, and rates the order positively. Nevertheless, the transaction overview says that the amount will be withheld for about 1 month. Why does this happen?

·2 weeks agoWhy does something like this happen? First take a look at how much money you listed the item for as a supposedly private seller.
And with high amounts, they first withhold it in case the buyer files a claim within the buyer protection period.

OP2 weeks agoOkay, where's all the hate coming from? Why supposedly a private seller? Because I'm selling off my card collection and it has a certain value, I'm now a dealer?
The item has already been rated positively, i.e. it arrived in perfect condition, so where is buyer protection supposed to apply now?

If you sell regularly, you get the payment directly; for "new" sellers, or sellers who sell less often, Ebay usually waits until the buyer protection period is over and then pays out - the reason for this is simply that the buyer could, for example, file a complaint after 14 days and Ebay could then just take back the payment and wouldn't have to "chase" the money.

Ebay should maybe also make this a bit more "visible" to inform people about it. By now, there are daily posts here that deal exactly with this issue.

OP2 weeks agoOkay, then either the terms and conditions are wrong or you are mistaken:
"In the case of a private purchase of a new device via eBay, a complaint is only possible without problems if the seller has not effectively excluded the warranty or if there is transport damage/incorrect information. "
