Violation of policy due to incorrect size information
Summary: 19master71 reports problems with his listings being removed by a platform because of supposedly incorrect size information. Despite stating the manufacturer sizes, listings were removed and the complaint was rejected. He asks the community why these guidelines are being enforced even though it could lead to returns. perfect-sally explains that the change to the size guidelines is known and affects everyone. bootyooty points to the rules that require numeric and regional sizes. 19master71 is frustrated because he fears the change will lead to more returns, and is considering pulling back.
Policy violation due to incorrect size specification
One or more of your listings violate our standard size policy and have been removed. We know this can be frustrating. But don't worry - we're happy to help you!
If the manufacturer states size 108 on its label, then it stays at 108. This information is also entered as such, with additional details such as inseam length, waist width, etc.
Every buyer would therefore have a return option due to incorrect size information.
So what is this supposed to mean, please?
The complaint in this regard was rejected. By the way, this also applies to 74 more items
we reviewed your appeal regarding a restriction on your eBay account. After another review, unfortunately we couldn't resolve your appeal because the listings do not follow our standard size policy. More details can be found below.
What does this mean for you?
You should take note of the following points to avoid relisting such items in the future:
Listings that do not comply with this policy will be removed or hidden until they are adjusted so that they no longer violate our policy.
Any restrictions or suspensions that apply to your account will remain in place. The listings will be automatically restored after the temporary restriction expires and will appear in search results.
Please make sure you understand our policy so you can apply it to future listings. Listings that violate this policy in the future may lead to these further measures: restriction or suspension of your account, hiding of listings from search results, ending of listings, loss of seller rating, and withholding of fees.

Clothing and shoe listings must use a size value approved for the category, e.g.:
Alpha sizes (2XS–XXL)
Numeric sizes
region-specific sizes, where available
Sellers must select the size that best matches the manufacturer’s size information. If an exact size is not available, choose the size option that is most likely compatible
When creating a listing using the eBay catalog, the product details must match the item exactly
Items must be listed in the correct category
Item descriptions must be written in the main language of the eBay website on which the item is listed

OP3 weeks agonow I’m wondering what’s wrong with that?
voli-maus
·3 weeks agoThere is no size 102 in D, @19master71 .
19master71
OP3 weeks agoThe textile size 102 in Germany is a special men’s ready-to-wear size for slim, tall men (so-called long size or slim size). It corresponds to the normal ready-to-wear size 52, but is cut for a longer body stature (usually for a height of about 1.82 m to 1.88 m).
Common measurements for size 102 in German size charts (e.g. at s.Oliver or Peek & Cloppenburg):
Chest circumference: approx. 102 – 105 cm
Waistband circumference / waist circumference: approx. 90 – 93 cm
Hip circumference: approx. 106 – 109 cm
Inseam / inside leg length (for trousers): noticeably longer than with the normal size 52 (often approx. 85 – 88 cm)
Basically, as a small sole proprietor, you can only really call it quits now; it’s no fun anymore with all these new regulations and requirements, whether from the EU or eBay. Stuff like that gets introduced without much thought or checking, and then later changed or tweaked afterward.
Then there’ll just be no more new textiles; apparently they can do without the fees, at least in my case.... many drops wear away the stone, the more small sellers give up, the less revenue there is for the platform operators too.

·3 weeks agoIt’s about the size specification you have to declare.
Click on the link that bootyooty posted.
And if size 102 corresponds to a 52, then enter size 52.
Yes, I know, it doesn’t get any easier to sell something online.

OP3 weeks agoSo far, I have a return rate of about 3% on clothing, which I’m very proud of, because exactly due to the precise size information, only the person who buys the pants with size 102 is the one who actually buys them.
If I listed size 52, this rate would definitely increase, since many people do not make the effort to read item features and the description.
So my conclusion has been stated: one less person who complains and offers such items.

·3 weeks agoHm, yeah, those are the requirements, @19master71
I recently listed an item of clothing.
It took about 15 minutes until it was listed and I got a message from eBay saying it had been listed.

·3 weeks agoAnd what is your question to the community? The thing about the larger one was announced some time ago so there would be enough time to react.
19master71
OP3 weeks agoIt says it in there. "What’s that supposed to mean?"
Am I supposed to knowingly make false statements?
perfect-sally
·3 weeks agoI don't see a question, and all sellers who offer something like this are affected by the new size requirements.

·3 weeks agoWhat’s that supposed to mean? This is supposed to be a question for the community? We don’t know what this is about or who came up with this nonsense. The fact is, you have to stick to it because otherwise articles will be removed. Either you adapt or stop selling such articles where there are no clear size specifications. In the end, who came up with this mess will probably never come out.
