I’m reaching out to the community and hope that a moderator can forward my case to the appropriate team.

I am a commercial seller on eBay.de and sell exclusively from Germany to Germany. I do not store goods abroad and I do not ship from abroad either. As a small business owner under § 19 UStG, I do not use OSS.

Nevertheless, I have once again received the automatic request to either enter a French VAT ID or confirm the use of OSS – on the grounds that I store goods in France. That is not true.

The special thing is: This exact issue was already fully resolved with eBay customer service in May/June 2026. Back then, I had confirmed in writing that I sell and ship exclusively within Germany, and I sent back the corresponding declaration signed. Customer service had forwarded the case internally to avoid the threatened restriction.

Now I’m receiving the same request again, apparently generated automatically, with a 7-day deadline until my selling activities are restricted. My valid German VAT ID is stored in my account and the account details are correct.

My questions to the community and moderation:

Has anyone here ever had the same problem – a repeated request for a foreign VAT ID even though the case had already been resolved? How was the incorrect marking in the account finally removed?

I’m asking a moderator to forward my case to the responsible team so that the false label “storage in France” is permanently removed from my account and doesn’t get triggered again every time the system runs. I can כמובן provide the existing case with thread ID and document ID to a moderator via private message.
