eBay account suspended due to allegedly missing VAT ID number.
Summary: gerstrong reports a restriction on his eBay account because, supposedly, his VAT ID does not match the data in the Federal Central Tax Office’s records. perfect-sally explains that the data at eBay must match the BZSt’s records exactly and points out that gerstrong is missing some legal requirements such as terms and conditions and a privacy policy. gerstrong thanks them and plans to add this information, but is still unsure where the discrepancy with eBay lies. perfect-sally suggests that an eBay employee, possibly Selina, could help.
Dear community,
like a few people already in the community, I received an email several times asking me to enter the VAT ID number. I did that and assumed that it was correct.
But now my account has supposedly been restricted for the following reason:
"However, your registration data differs from the data held by the Federal Central Tax Office.
I’m sure the number is correct. Can anyone help me here get a deeper insight?

Hello @gerstrong ,
Many thanks for your post.
I recommend that you consult with the BZSt here and have everything checked there once.
@perfect-sally Thanks for the tag 🤗
Best regards
Selina

·3 weeks agoIt doesn’t necessarily have to be just because of the number. The data in ebay has to match the data at the BZSt 100% — even the slightest deviation will be rejected.
And where are your legally required business details?
No returns as a business seller? That’s totally not okay.
Right of withdrawal notice?
Terms and conditions?
Privacy policy?
A whole lot is missing there, and you’re at high risk of getting a warning letter.

OP3 weeks agoThanks for the heads-up. You're right, I need to make up for that. I'll take care of it.
Still, I'd like to know what eBay has to object to. I can't understand the discrepancy in my data with BZSt.
