we already have several threads here about 12.08. but these already contain a lot of posts, so they’re hard to follow, so this is a new one about a new development.
According to the EU, the producer status of a cardboard box/packaging is now the responsibility of the company that manufactured or printed it. This means that retailers no longer have to document what the box is made of. This, even though according to the German waste "bureaucracy" supposedly the one who attaches a shipping label is the producer.

Which is at least a good step in the right direction. One can only hope that the EU will also eventually conclude that this PPWR nonsense should be designed sensibly as well, namely in such a way that not all small and medium-sized retailers have to stop selling.

It would be much more sensible if we could get clear and straightforward statements from the EU officials for once, where everything is presented in an understandable way.

The paper above is visible to everyone (link). This is a classic case of "refusal by omission" when it comes to implementing the law. Let's see how ebay reacts.
