Customer address
Good morning everyone,
What’s actually going on here these days? Can anyone sign up here with a made-up/incorrect address
or without giving a last name?
Back when I registered, I had to run to the post office with my ID and verify myself.
Instead of shipping right away, I have to ask the buyer and wait for a response.

the delivery address does not have to be verified on eBay. Any recipient and address can be entered there.
If any ambiguities come up, I contact the buyer.
If the problem can't be solved, I cancel the purchase with the reason "Problem with the customer's delivery address".

Did you get your goods sent back with the note "Recipient could not be found at the specified address" or something similar?
I also had to verify my identity - but what I see in the system is that you can change the delivery address arbitrarily - for example, I could change my girlfriend’s address in another town to a permanent delivery address. But I don’t do that.
One reason why I like to frank with the DHL app: the app checks street names, etc., and suggests corrections. Of course I don’t have 100% guarantee that everything is correct, but certain input errors can be avoided. With Hermes, I copy the address stored in eBay and insert it using the Hermes insert function.
And I preserve my independence instead of buying shipping labels from eBay. There are only errors there.

no, I have a customer (just newly registered) who only has the first letter of her last name in the delivery address,
and the DHL delivery person would probably have problems delivering there. She replied relatively quickly now, but there would need to be
a logic check in the registration. Nobody has only A as a last name.

I once had a customer who entered the wrong house number and the package came back. He was totally shocked and immediately paid for the reshipment and entered the correct house number. Everything could be sorted out reasonably.

·3 weeks ago · EditedThat’s clear to me too. But as I already wrote above: You can enter all kinds of things as the delivery address. Registration must be done with your full name and correct address.
Delivery address can also be: Josh T., Timbuktu.
