OSS -> possible sales restrictions despite proof -> no response to ticket from customer service
Summary: steinchenbert expressed frustration regarding repeated emails about potential sales restrictions related to the OSS issue, despite having provided evidence of compliance. After multiple communications with customer service and lack of final confirmation, steinchenbert sought resolution through the eBay Community. selina_b@ebay informed them that the issue was forwarded to the specialist department, resulting in temporary resolution with the account placed on an exception list for three months. samantha@ebay confirmed this status, with reevaluation to occur after the period.
Hello fellow sellers – and hopefully an eBay Community employee is reading along too. :-)
I’m trying once more to finally get my actually nonexistent problem conclusively clarified.
I have again received emails regarding the OSS issue in which possible selling restrictions were announced to me. I can’t understand the basis for them.
After an eBay employee here in the Community kindly opened a ticket for me, I have now communicated with eBay customer service six times. In doing so, I repeatedly confirmed and demonstrated based on my own records that I monitor my cross-border EU revenue across all sales channels myself and have not yet exceeded the relevant €10,000 threshold.
At first, unfortunately, I received multiple replies with references to irrelevant points in the form of canned text. After I finally asked for it to be forwarded to the responsible specialist department , another employee explicitly confirmed to me that everything was basically fine and that my details for requesting an “exception” had been forwarded to the specialist department. I was promised a final confirmation within three business days.
To this day, this feedback has not been provided – not even after I followed up again after that deadline had passed.
Back in April I had exactly the same situation. Back then, one single statement was enough; after that, a manual review took place and I was explicitly confirmed that no further action was needed.
I also want to say openly that I am unfortunately not satisfied with the course customer service has taken in this case so far. As a commercial seller with four-figure annual eBay fees, I find it very unsatisfying to have to keep taking action because of announced selling restrictions that I cannot understand, provide all the required information and evidence, and then still be left hanging without a final response.
I would be very happy if another eBay Community employee could get in touch with me who can understand that, as a motivated and ambitious seller, the final clarification is very important to me. I will of course gladly share the existing ticket number via private message.
Thank you and kind regards
Robert

I’ve received feedback from the specialist department.
We’ve now put the account on the exception list for 3 months - after that, the account will be re-evaluated.
Thanks for the tag @perfect-sally

OPAug 14, 2026 at 1:40 PMYes, I received it, thanks a lot. Although I can't quite understand the "exception" - since I'm complying with everything. But you will have corresponding internal experience and reasons. So we'll hear from each other again in November. :-)
From 2027 I will change quite a few things and then also use OSS, which should solve the issue by itself. :-)
Still looking forward to good cooperation and have a nice weekend

OPAug 13, 2026 at 1:32 PMHi, thanks a lot! I received a notification today that there is currently no further action required and everything is in order. However, there will be a review again in 3 months. I hope that at that time the emails won’t be sent out again, and if they are, I hope for a quicker review and confirmation - because the circumstances will still be the same then. :-)
