Premium Shop: Fees for posting in 2 categories?
Hello community!
I subscribed to a Premium shop. Does anyone know - preferably an employee - what fees are charged for listing in a second category?
Ebay only says: "For the second category, we charge a listing fee" - but not how high this listing fee is.
Maybe someone knows more.

Hello @der-steine-spezialist and thanks for reminding me about this topic again. We checked the behavior described in the background once more and can confirm that no listing fees (also called insertion fees) are charged when you have a Premium Shop > see Benefits by eBay shop package.
What is important to note, however: there is a charge of 10 cents per item if the items were relisted before the shop upgrade. In your case, you upgraded the shop 1 day after these items were relisted. Here we have to refer to our Terms and Conditions for fees: ".... The amount of the fees is based on the conditions that are valid at the time the listing first appears on the website and when the listing duration was extended. ..."
At the time the items were listed, you had a Basic Shop and thus a listing fee of 10 cents. As a gesture of goodwill, however, we have now credited you the listing fees once as a one-time courtesy 😊.

I recently upgraded my shop subscription because I can no longer edit my variant listings and therefore want to list everything individually. In the process, I had already listed a few items for a fee before upgrading the subscription (0.12€/listing).
Will these fees now be charged when they are automatically relisted, or will that then be free in the next cycle thanks to the higher shop subscription? Otherwise I would just end these listings and relist them.

Hello @bixtron - you're right here. Everything that is set up with the shop subscription or renewed normally counts toward the quota 😊.

If that had been stated in the terms and conditions, the fees would of course have been correct. But it would certainly make sense if the fees had already been shown when the change was confirmed - then I wouldn’t have changed anything at all and would ultimately have needed help. If your item is sold, the higher of the two possible commissions applies.
When editing or listing the item, you will see 0.00€, since the fee is only charged upon a successful sale, not when listing.

I understand that a sales commission is charged (also that the higher of the two commissions is calculated).
What I’m asking is whether an additional LISTING FEE is charged. In my private account, the second category costs 50 cents.
So I wanted to ask how this works for the business account with Premium Shop when it comes to LISTING FEES.

@selina_b@ebay can definitely answer that. Normally, a listing fee is due for the 2nd category, but I’m not sure about that either with the Premium Shop.

That’s why I’m asking to be on the safe side. In my private account, the 2nd category costs 50 cents, even though there are otherwise no fees. And fees were also charged for listing in my commercial Top Shop (I don’t remember the price anymore).

Now I specifically asked TWO employees whether there were any fees for listing. Twice I was told no. And then I was charged more than 40 euros afterward for listing in a second category. And presumably more fees will follow.
Honestly: I feel completely ripped off...

You will be charged a listing fee for the second category, not a listing fee.

Just make sure that as the 2nd category you don't choose one with a higher commission, because the higher one will definitely apply.

OP3 weeks agoIt is also stated on the fee page that the higher commission will be charged - in my case, the commissions are identical.
In fact, I tried it: for the second category, no extra fee is shown (0.00 euros), which would fit your assumption.
However, I would like confirmation from a staff member. Because it has happened several times that fees were only charged after days (legitimate fees, so everything is fine in that regard). But it would be pretty disastrous if I activate a second category almost 5000 times - and then after a few days a bill in the three- or four-digit range arrives, because it actually costs 5, 10, or 20 cents per item ;-)
