Strategies for increasing sales on eBay
Summary: Jalda reports a decline in sales figures on eBay, despite stable quality and prices, and asks about strategies for increasing revenue. mmstore74 confirms the general trend of declining sales and points to external factors such as punitive tariffs and the new EU packaging regulation as causes. mmstore74 mentions that he has found ways to continue making sales abroad, although he does not want to reveal the exact methods.
Hello everyone,
I’ve noticed that my sales figures on eBay have been steadily declining over the past few months, despite unchanged product quality and stable prices. Especially compared to last year, a significant drop is noticeable (and this already in a row).
I’d be interested to know what strategies you’ve used to increase your revenue in such challenging times?
Have you switched to alternative platforms, adjusted your marketing tactics, or maybe restructured your product range?
Please share your experiences and thoughts so we can find solutions together.
Thank you very much and best regards!
PS: You don’t have to share your tactics with me; it’s much more about the decline in sales.

·1 month agojust a small addition as consolation: with private listings it's often the same, "self-runners" are only the super sought-after things/brands/precious metals, etc. Without ad rates hardly any views.
Yes, at least for me it works much more effectively elsewhere with typical collectibles and vintage stuff. Much more!
Best,

·1 month agoHello @jalda so it’s not just you, I’d say that’s how it’ll be for 90 - 95% of all sellers, but not 100% for private individuals.
I’m speaking from my own experience now.
First came the funny Donald from the USA with his punitive tariffs, and the whole USA fell away.
Now funny Uschi and her buddies have come up with a silly idea to make a lot of money for the coffers and then dreamed up this super brilliant new packaging regulation for the EU, which pretty much nobody can afford or wants to, and so Europe is broken too.
Since I had shipped a lot abroad, I have had to deal with a very, very large drop in sales percentages, but over time I learned how to keep getting the items to my customers, even outside Germany and across the pond (but that’s like with a chef, the recipe won’t be revealed 😁)
I think eBay will feel it extremely and then we sellers will feel it again.
Wishing you a nice weekend
