Sales successes after price increases???
Summary: shoppingxperts_kittel reports that increasing the prices by 1 cent in a used-goods group suddenly caused sales to rise, which he finds unusual, since he had expected buyers to respond to price reductions. sunrise1605 speculates that price increases might possibly influence the order of search results. bixtron shares a similar experience in which a price increase led to improved search results.
Hello friends,
after one of my used-goods groups stagnated, I increased the prices on all items by 1ct increased. Since then, one item after another has been disappearing from the group.
That was no special case. I experienced the same with individual items where I raised the price. Strange behavior. I would have expected buyers to jump on discounts, but apparently eBay also gives price increases higher priority, at least for a while.
have fun!

·3 weeks agoIf you increase the prices, this counts as "item edited" - the search engine recognizes this as an edit/change and lists the items better for a while.
It's not just the customer, but also what it is and how they can find it :)

·3 weeks agoHello,
it's most likely due to the broken search function. I had that once with certain articles too - I wasn't shown at all in the search function. Increased the price by €1 and lo and behold - search results and everything gone...

If not, a price reduction can’t be a buying criterion.
Your assumption about the listing is probably more likely to be the issue.
Very interesting point.
