Mark questions as answered. No longer possible???

Hi everyone, I’ve noticed that there doesn’t seem to be any way anymore to mark questions as answered. Is that known, or is it just me? Messages keep coming in that don’t require a reply, which is why that feature was really useful. Now I keep seeing unanswered questions in the cockpit and I always have to check whether they’re new questions or just old stuff. It would be great if the “Mark as answered” function were usable again soon. @miriam@ebay @patrick@ebay @nina@ebay @samantha@ebay @alina@ebay Thanks a lot and best regards

Legal misjudgment by eBay customer service in a private sale with damage to DHL during transit through no fault of my own

Legal misjudgment by eBay customer service in a private sale with an unintentional DHL transport damage A buyer purchases a coin collection of 63 pieces, which came with a coin case. During transport by DHL, a slit tear occurred through the box and padding and cut the velour lining on the bottom of the coin case. So this is a clear transport damage caused by DHL, which the buyer also confirmed. The actual coin collection is not affected by this and is complete and undamaged. The seller is now demanding a return and was too lazy to report the damage to his DHL branch. Despite being asked to do so, since he only has 7 days. I also informed eBay, who told me over the phone that a return can be excluded here, since the shipping risk for transport damage passes to the buyer. The buyer also contacted eBay and demanded the return, and yesterday customer service approved the return, which contradicts all the rules. I filed an objection and am utterly baffled. In a private eBay sale, the buyer bears the shipping risk (transfer of risk) as soon as the goods have been handed over to DHL (§ 447 BGB). The seller is not liable and does not have to refund the purchase price unless the transport damage is clearly due to inadequate or faulty packaging. In a private purchase , the buyer must report the damage to DHL, since the damaged shipment has to be presented there. The buyer must report the incident within 7 days in a branch or online and inform the seller Since the 7-day deadline has expired, the damage to the coin case, which would cost around €50 to replace, would also be left on me. The auction value is €399and a return and warranty were also explicitly excluded in the listing. The coin case (incidental item) was undamaged beforehand and the package was packed very well. So there is no fault on my part. A return is therefore out of the question for me. What can I please do?

Experiences with the IBMS at eBay

Hello everyone, I’m currently trying to figure out how a commercial seller on eBay can actually submit an official complaint through the internal complaint management system – IBMS – . On the relevant eBay help page, it says that IBMS is available to commercial users at any time, without restrictions, easily accessible, and free of charge. It also explains that a complaint can simply be submitted via eBay customer service. In practice, however, I can’t find this described access. The “Customer Service” link only leads to the general help homepage. There I can find neither a menu item for “IBMS complaint” nor any clearly designated form or special contact option for it. Even via chat, when I asked specifically how and where an IBMS complaint can be submitted, I did not receive any relevant information. The background is a buyer protection case in which proof of delivery was sent to eBay on time and eBay confirmed receipt. Even so, the decision was made against me. In the subsequent contacts, different and sometimes contradictory reasons were given. I repeatedly and explicitly asked for my submission to be recorded as an official complaint under IBMS . However, instead of a confirmation or an IBMS case number, I continued to receive general standard replies about the original case. So in this post, I’m not primarily looking to reopen the discussion about the individual buyer protection decision, but rather asking the basic question: How can a commercial seller verifiably submit an official IBMS complaint to eBay? Has anyone here already successfully submitted such a complaint? Through which exact menu item, form, or contact channel was it submitted? Did you then receive explicit confirmation that the matter was recorded as an IBMS complaint — possibly with a separate IBMS complaint number? Or does every normal contact with eBay customer service automatically count as an IBMS complaint, even if this is neither communicated nor apparent from the reply? If there is an official way, I’d be very grateful for a precise description or a specific tip. Simply being directed to general customer service unfortunately doesn’t help if IBMS can’t be selected there and the matter isn’t explicitly handled as such. Best regards

      Refund

The buyer has already been refunded €175 and €6.18. Nevertheless, the shipping costs were deducted from me twice in total. I ask that you review the transactions and refund the shipping costs that were charged too much.

The EBAY return label is invalid

Who can please help me? The return label from EBAY is invalid. I want to return an item that is wrong. The seller agrees, but cannot/will not send a return label. The return label from EBAY did arrive, but according to the DHL shop it is invalid. Despite numerous attempts to get a new one, the old, invalid one keeps coming back. AI communication, despite a detailed description, does not recognize the problem and sees no need for action, since the listing does not violate EBAY guidelines. The decision was now also made by a member of the customer service team.  I know that I can also return it without EBAY, but I would like to find a solution within the system. Who can please help me? Thanks!
