Buyer leaves a negative review impulsively, we reach an agreement, but he still can’t delete/change the review

Hello! A buyer leaves a negative review, I come to an agreement with the buyer that the review was not justified, I use the "Request review change" function and select "agreed with buyer" in it, I get the message from ebay that the buyer now has 10 days to change or delete the review. These 10 days expire in 3 days. So far, so good! Now I’ve been back and forth with the buyer for several days because he simply can’t change the review. I don’t know exactly what he has to do for it to work, because I’ve never tried it myself, so I can’t help him either. He writes to me that he has already spent over 24 hours (!) unsuccessfully trying to remove or change this mistaken review, but it just won’t work, because the links lead nowhere or something is greyed out. He says he has already written 140 pages (!) with ebay’s AI and Google without success. He may not be experienced with it, but that already shows that there must be a lack of user-friendliness in the system somewhere! Best regards felsenschulter

Monitoring of age-18+ offerings and suspected commercial private sales

Dear eBay Team, we commercially sell DVDs and Blu-rays with FSK 18 approval and ship them accordingly with age verification in line with your requirements. This results in significant shipping costs for us. At the same time, we see numerous FSK 18 listings on eBay for only 4 to 5 euros including shipping. A low price does not in itself prove a violation. But it does raise the question for us whether a suitable shipping method is actually being used for these listings (with 8.18 euros shipping costs) and how eBay monitors compliance with its requirements. In addition, there are seller accounts that present themselves as private, while at the same time offering thousands of items, including new goods in their original packaging. Here too, we ask you to tell us on the basis of which criteria eBay checks whether commercial activity is taking place. Please answer us specifically: How does eBay check whether FSK 18 items are actually shipped with age verification? What measures does eBay take with listings or sellers that violate these requirements? How does eBay check conspicuous private seller accounts with a very large stock of new goods? We expect fair competitive conditions for sellers who comply with the requirements and bear the associated costs. We would appreciate a specific response. Kind regards

Return went wrong - item not received; Hermes marked as "delivered".

Hello community. I've been completely fed up with the Ebay team since yesterday, and customer service puts up a fight every time you need help, to the point that I unfortunately also had to get pretty insulting. On to my problem: I received a return request ( return reason: "Not as described"), because the buyer claimed that the sold item was no longer new, but in the same text he confirmed its condition (as "in original packaging and sealed"), which he himself wrote. After I disputed this return, for exactly this reason, eBay decided in the buyer's favor without my consent and sent a return label in my name , as also written in the e-mail from Ebay (in addition to the fact that I never choose Hermes voluntarily, because I've only had problems with them; more on that in a moment) . Within about 1 week I spoke to customer service several times until it was finally decided that they would refund me the entire amount as soon as I refunded the money to the buyer as well (so both he and I get the full amount credited). I therefore simply asked the buyer to send it back to me as quickly as possible, which he did - so there were no problems with the buyer either. Yesterday morning I then received a notification from Ebay that the return had now been delivered. I checked the front door , asked the neighbors and looked in the mailbox and nothing was there. Then I called customer service again and said that I couldn't make a refund if I hadn't received anything. They opened a case for me, bla bla bla, and in the end they again decided against me because the item is marked as delivered. On the Hermes site there is no picture, no proof, nothing at all that helps me. Customer service told me the following: Hermes and Ebay were not partnered, Hermes was also a customer of ebay and I would have to contact Hermes for claims for damages; item is delivered and therefore nothing can be done, which is why every time the decision is made against me; bla bla bla... The strange thing (which also a "Werner Tafel" noticed and still decided against me): In the tracking history, the courier first noted the status "Recipient not available" and "Delivery next business day" at 10:24. Then at 10:26 the delivery was marked as "successfully delivered". According to the Hermes website there is no photo, no signature or anything else . Well, I looked into it and called Hermes, and they told me the following: Since Hermes is partnered with Ebay and Ebay ordered the return label on its own, this claim for damages has to be clarified through Ebay, who then credit the money, since you are also protected as a seller (apparently the Hermes employee knows more than the ones at Ebay...). So now I'm here and waiting again for a call from Ebay, after they eventually blocked me off yesterday evening and stonewalled me with "Ebay has already made a final decision", even though I have to say every time that it's no longer about the case decision, but about the claim for damages that should be enforced for me. Right now I'm stuck with exactly €340 in damages (item lost, worth at least €170 and potentially more + €170 refunded to the buyer). Yes, I sent Ebay a photo of the tracking history. Yes, I also saved the website as HTML. No, I haven't had my problem solved, because Ebay stonewalls at every attempt to communicate and shuts me down with the phrases "Ebay has already decided" and "As an employee I can't do anything else". Ebay has demonstrably acted against my will and in my name, i.e. debited the balance and sent a Hermes return label to the buyer on its own. Thank you in advance for your help and attention.

    Bug with instant purchase price!!

Hello, I have a problem with the buy-it-now price. When I enter 52,99 it changes it to 5299 .... it wasn't doing that a few days ago!! Is this a bug on eBay? I can only enter 52,00, so an even number. 52,90 doesn't work either. I also tried leaving out the comma... but it still keeps doing it......lg. Edit: I think I just found a trick to get around it.

Buyer claims the cards were fake.......am I in the right?

as the title already says, someone claims that the Pokémon cards I sold him a few days ago are fake. I have 8 invoices from well-known shops. There are no fake cards there. the case will be opened on 28.8 and then I’ll upload all the invoices. Is that enough as proof for eBay? I don’t want to end up not getting my money ? I got a shock today when I received his message.....

No consumer protection on eBay. Seller cancels the contract after purchase and payment.

I bought and paid for 4 items from a foreign seller on eBay.de . After some time, the seller from Poland simply cancels the purchase without any reason, which is not allowed at all under German law. He doesn't want to deliver the goods because in the meantime he's offering them in the same listing on eBay at a higher price (many hundreds of items available). eBay's workflow doesn't even allow me as a private customer to open a case; it gets rejected electronically. eBay supports illegal behavior on its seller platform. I am very disappointed by this consumer-hostile structure of the platform; that didn't exist before !

This offer violates the policy on purchases and sales outside of eBay - but it doesn't

I'm trying to sell something for the first time right now. I filled out the listing form, uploaded pictures, and clicked Publish. After that, I was shown that my listing would violate this policy. There's not a word in the listing about wanting to sell outside of Ebay, and there isn't any contact information either. The help page about it only lets me talk to a chatbot, which immediately crashes. How can I contact Ebay to clear this up? Edit: The listing is online now, thanks for the help!

Hello, there’s a private seller on eBay offering Amazon vouchers, but he sends empty envelopes. He’s already received negative feedback about this, but he still keeps selling Amazon vouchers anyway. What makes the whole thing fraudulent now is that in the AUCTION TEXT he asks for an instant bank transfer, so completely outside eBay’s payment system and buyer protection. I’ve already reported this listing to eBay several times, but eBay always just says “does not violate our policies.” How on earth can that be?

    eBay's non-existent seller protection

Hi everyone, I’m slowly no longer understanding why it should be worth it to sell things on this platform. I’ve now had two cases again that are really infuriating. Case 1: Buyer purchases an item from another EU country. It’s a Portuguese island that’s far away from the mainland. The item is handed over to DHL on time for shipping, with the note that shipping will take longer because of the island conditions (Vila do Porto, Portugal). The buyer opened a case straight away saying the item had not arrived, while the package was still in transit. eBay Support agreed with the buyer and refunded the money in his favor. That left me out a good three-figure amount + shipping costs. Of course I filed an appeal, which was also rejected by eBay Support. 3-4 days after the rejection, the item arrived with the buyer and was delivered. And yes: the tracking number was stored and had also been mentioned to eBay Support in every message. Case 2: Buyer wins an auction and doesn’t pay. The purchase is canceled by eBay. Why does the buyer not have to pay, or isn’t it forcibly collected, like happened to me in case 1? As someone who has been selling on eBay with this account since 2014, and was active before that since 2008, I have to say, it’s terrible what this platform has become. Has anyone experienced similar cases?
