    Identity verification for commercial sellers?

Can I, as a commercial seller, arrange an authenticity check myself on eBay, even before I even list the item? If so, how much does it cost?

Monitoring of age-18+ offerings and suspected commercial private sales

Dear eBay Team, we commercially sell DVDs and Blu-rays with FSK 18 approval and ship them accordingly with age verification in line with your requirements. This results in significant shipping costs for us. At the same time, we see numerous FSK 18 listings on eBay for only 4 to 5 euros including shipping. A low price does not in itself prove a violation. But it does raise the question for us whether a suitable shipping method is actually being used for these listings (with 8.18 euros shipping costs) and how eBay monitors compliance with its requirements. In addition, there are seller accounts that present themselves as private, while at the same time offering thousands of items, including new goods in their original packaging. Here too, we ask you to tell us on the basis of which criteria eBay checks whether commercial activity is taking place. Please answer us specifically: How does eBay check whether FSK 18 items are actually shipped with age verification? What measures does eBay take with listings or sellers that violate these requirements? How does eBay check conspicuous private seller accounts with a very large stock of new goods? We expect fair competitive conditions for sellers who comply with the requirements and bear the associated costs. We would appreciate a specific response. Kind regards

Is my eBay account permanently suspended?

Hello, I contacted eBay Germany customer service and they told me that my account is permanently suspended. However, I do not see any message on my account saying that it is permanently suspended. I only see a message asking me to verify my identity.

    eBay Principles Support Program

"Hello p-schauberger, so that you can sell on eBay even more safely and successfully in the future , we have enrolled you in the eBay Policies support program ." That's nice, hopefully policy violations will actually be dealt with there sometime and NOT answered by the A rtificial I ntelligence. I support eBay wherever I can ! Better hire new employees already .... Best, Peter

WARRANTY LABEL ... where exactly does this thing go???

Hello folks, from 27.9.2026 we have to implement the warranty label. How are you doing this? The recommendation is to insert it into the item descriptions (first you have to save the label with an image service and then insert it with HTML. It works, but it’s a pain.) Or it is displayed centrally by the platform, i.e. Ebay, in checkout before payment. With Ebay, once again, as always, there is a great lack of knowledge; some of the service staff, who mostly speak poor German, don’t even know what you’re talking about. So... who among you knows more? I’m open to smart answers. ;-) I wish you huge sales and a nice time. best, Stephan Below is a picture of what it looks like.

Warning: No seller protection with basic shipment tracking (letter/small parcel)? My experience!

Hello everyone, I want to warn you about eBay seller protection with basic shipping tracking (letter/parcels) and ask whether you’ve had similar experiences. This is about the case where a buyer reports an “item not received” even though the shipment was successfully delivered according to tracking. The background: A shipment was paid for by me on Aug. 11, scanned on Aug. 12, and according to tracking delivered on Aug. 13. Shipping was handled completely through the eBay shipping manager . As is well known, eBay has for some time promised full seller protection for DHL letter shipments with basic tracking (and since 01.08.2026 also for DHL parcels) if shipping was booked through eBay’s own shipping manager and the status says “Successfully delivered.” The reality: a trap for sellers In practice, this protection gives private sellers a false sense of security. As soon as the buyer opens the case and it is escalated to customer service after 4 working days, the following happens: Automatically, the system does immediately give you a positive rating for this transaction (“Order delivered on time and without issues”). Nevertheless, customer service decided the case in favor of the buyer . The absurd reasoning from support: “Since we cannot confirm successful delivery, we are now closing this case and will fully refund the buyer’s purchase price. To continue selling successfully on eBay in the future and benefit from our seller protection, I recommend that you always choose a shipping method with tracking.” The receipt madness: Before that, support had requested additional proof: “the original postal receipt showing the buyer’s delivery address. Please take a photo of the receipt.” I then uploaded the original PDF stamp with matrix code, tracking number, date, recipient and sender address. This document was not accepted . Apparently, support expects a printed DHL branch receipt, like the kind you only get with parcels. The fact that the tracking number is already permanently and automatically linked to the recipient address by the eBay shipping manager (and included in the matrix code) is completely ignored. Shipping to a different address is technically impossible with this label (with this tracking number). The shipment can only have arrived at the buyer’s address. Conclusion: There is NO seller protection with basic tracking for letters and DHL parcels! If the buyer claims not to have received anything despite the shipment status “Successfully Delivered,” the eBay customer service will refund the purchase amount + shipping costs to the buyer. And advise the seller: “To continue selling successfully on eBay in the future and benefit from our seller protection, I recommend that you always choose a shipping method with tracking.” The legal situation in Germany: As a private seller, according to the legal basis, I only have to prove: “sale by shipment between private individuals (§ 447 BGB)”, that I properly sent the item. In a sale from private to private, the transport risk passes to the buyer as soon as the seller hands the item over to the shipping company. If the buyer claims, despite proof of shipment, that nothing arrived, they cannot legally demand either compensation or a refund from a private seller. But, since when has eBay cared about laws!

Has the forum -Members help members- actually proven its worth? And are the access restrictions that apply there appropriate, given the fact that most questions still say: "Not solved yet"?

Buyer claims the cards were fake.......am I in the right?

as the title already says, someone claims that the Pokémon cards I sold him a few days ago are fake. I have 8 invoices from well-known shops. There are no fake cards there. the case will be opened on 28.8 and then I’ll upload all the invoices. Is that enough as proof for eBay? I don’t want to end up not getting my money ? I got a shock today when I received his message.....
