QuestionMembers help membersChevronRightIcon Monitoring of age-18+ offerings and suspected commercial private sales Dear eBay Team, we commercially sell DVDs and Blu-rays with FSK 18 approval and ship them accordingly with age verification in line with your requirements. This results in significant shipping costs for us. At the same time, we see numerous FSK 18 listings on eBay for only 4 to 5 euros including shipping. A low price does not in itself prove a violation. But it does raise the question for us whether a suitable shipping method is actually being used for these listings (with 8.18 euros shipping costs) and how eBay monitors compliance with its requirements. In addition, there are seller accounts that present themselves as private, while at the same time offering thousands of items, including new goods in their original packaging. Here too, we ask you to tell us on the basis of which criteria eBay checks whether commercial activity is taking place. Please answer us specifically: How does eBay check whether FSK 18 items are actually shipped with age verification? What measures does eBay take with listings or sellers that violate these requirements? How does eBay check conspicuous private seller accounts with a very large stock of new goods? We expect fair competitive conditions for sellers who comply with the requirements and bear the associated costs. We would appreciate a specific response. Kind regards
QuestionMembers help membersChevronRightIcon Suddenly no sales - account is in good standing Sales have noticeably declined. Sometimes we go hours without any sales, but also without any messages. Our account is clean. All quotas are very good, reviews too. The items can be purchased without any problems, delivery times are also very good. Is this currently a common problem? Does anyone have a solution? Thank you very much!
TopicAct privately & discussChevronRightIconSell speakerguy317View listingseBay's non-existent seller protection Hi everyone, I’m slowly no longer understanding why it should be worth it to sell things on this platform. I’ve now had two cases again that are really infuriating. Case 1: Buyer purchases an item from another EU country. It’s a Portuguese island that’s far away from the mainland. The item is handed over to DHL on time for shipping, with the note that shipping will take longer because of the island conditions (Vila do Porto, Portugal). The buyer opened a case straight away saying the item had not arrived, while the package was still in transit. eBay Support agreed with the buyer and refunded the money in his favor. That left me out a good three-figure amount + shipping costs. Of course I filed an appeal, which was also rejected by eBay Support. 3-4 days after the rejection, the item arrived with the buyer and was delivered. And yes: the tracking number was stored and had also been mentioned to eBay Support in every message. Case 2: Buyer wins an auction and doesn’t pay. The purchase is canceled by eBay. Why does the buyer not have to pay, or isn’t it forcibly collected, like happened to me in case 1? As someone who has been selling on eBay with this account since 2014, and was active before that since 2008, I have to say, it’s terrible what this platform has become. Has anyone experienced similar cases? 2 months agolast reply 2 months ago
