Shipping address corrected - seller protection

Hello everyone, I sold a CPU to a buyer in China; the delivery address is a (probably) forwarding address in Germany. In the order, the street field contained the street plus company name on one line. As a result, I couldn’t create a shipping label on eBay. So I only formally split up the address; in terms of content, everything stayed the same: recipient name and customer ID, company name, street and house number, postal code and city. Nothing was changed, added, or left out; the company name was just moved from the street field to its own line. The package has been sent with tracking number. My questions: Does this still count for seller protection as delivery to the address from the order, or is such a split considered an address change? Has anyone had experience with similar cases, especially with forwarding addresses? A message to the buyer about this was blocked by eBay because of the contact details content, so clarification wasn’t possible that way, which is why I’m asking here. Thanks in advance!

No small images in the order overview for variants?

Hi, Am I the only one who doesn’t get small images displayed when going to the order overview? This only happens with variant items, not with single items. For single items, the image is on eBay when I open it. For variant items, the image is on our hoster. The curious thing is that it’s always different items. Are you having this problem too? Best regards

📦 Create up to 200 shipping labels in bulk for combined orders and individual orders

Dear sellers, Do you have several orders to ship? Maybe even several orders from one buyer? The new feature lets you create and buy shipping labels for all your orders at once – including your shipping labels for combined orders. You can create up to 200 shipping labels at once . How bundled shipping works 1️⃣ Select orders In Seller Cockpit Pro, go to Orders and then to All orders . There, select the orders you want and click Create shipping label under Shipping . 2️⃣ Combine orders from the same buyer With “Combine orders per buyer” , suitable orders from the same person can be automatically grouped into one shipment. If you only want to combine certain orders, simply select the desired orders and then click “Combine” . 3️⃣ Check combined shipment The grouped shipment is marked as “COMBINED” . There you can see the grouped orders and items as well as the shipping service and price. If needed, you can undo the combination again by clicking “Undo combined shipping” . 4️⃣ Enter package details For combined shipments, enter the weight and dimensions for the entire package and then select the shipping carrier. 5️⃣ Review and pay for shipping labels Before buying, you can review your shipping labels and the total cost once more. After successful payment, the shipping labels for all selected orders – including your combined orders – will be ready to print or download. Important notes: At present, shipping labels are supported only in A4 format .  Shipping labels from DHL and Deutsche Post can be bought in bundles directly through the platform. Individual shipping labels from other shipping carriers can also be bought through the platform. Due to EU VAT regulations , certain international orders cannot be combined, even if they come from the same person. Make your business more efficient by creating and printing shipping labels for combined orders at the same time as shipping labels for your other orders. Best regards Your eBay Team

Why should a buyer cover the costs of return shipping (presumably to the Far East) when incorrect items are delivered?

Hello everyone, I’m looking for your experiences and opinions on a topic, because I have a few questions I don’t understand, since I can’t make sense of the logic. If someone from ebay is reading along and asks which case?: Case No. 5386995598 Return No. 5328941191 An item was offered on ebay, documented with photos of the goods. After the purchase and delivery, when I unpacked the parcel, I found that I had received the wrong goods, which I had not ordered. I contacted the seller, who stayed silent. Note: This is not a wrong purchase, no mistaken decision in selecting the item, and not my exercise of the right of withdrawal, but rather a complaint about goods delivered incorrectly. After the required waiting period, I involved ebay. The current status is as follows. -Note: I do not have a return label. As the return address, ebay provided me with the following on the same webpage. -Stupid question or does anyone else see it the same way?: Who can spot the two errors here? Here it is to be assumed the seller is based in the Far East, according to a Google search presumably in China, but only presumably China. Something like that cannot be shipped with DHL. Even if it could, then “Return to sender”. For me, that means double shipping costs and the seller keeps my money item / shipping costs. What options are left for me? None except shipping at my own expense .... or I stay silent without providing a shipping number and do not get my money back or receive a replacement item either. Contacting ebay is not possible online in this case / process. Is that the end of it already? No, in the event of non-deliverability, there will be additional costs of around 15.00 for me for the return shipment of the goods I complained about back to me as the sender. Now to my questions: Why do I have to pay the return shipping costs for a complaint identified immediately, even though the mistake here is clearly with the seller? Even if I could ship it, I pay and bear the return shipping costs because of a seller error of 25.49 euros? Why does the seller provide a shipping address on ebay that presumably cannot even be delivered to? Are we being measured by different standards here? -Same seller, same delivery with the above-mentioned goods in a shipping box, and here too the wrong goods were delivered. -The seller was contacted, again there was silence, ebay was involved, the result: a credit without return shipping -Case: Case No. 5386995643 / Return No. 5328941165 Regards Klaus

Critical System Bug: Sept 13 Listings Stuck Dual-Active/Inactive / Sold Missing in Orders / SR# 1-508680571078

My auctions from September 13th are stuck in a critical system bug: both sold and unsold listings show up as active AND inactive. Sold items do not appear in my 'Orders' section, and buyers cannot see or pay for them on their end. Multiple messages & calls: I have sent numerous messages and made a call where I was promised a resolution within 3 days. It has now been over two weeks with no fix. Manual fix proven possible: During my call on Sept 18, an agent was manually unfreeze ONE item in less then minute, proving that the issue can be resolved manually on an item level. No updates for 5 days: The last email I received was 5 days ago (Sept 24), stating the case was escalated to the back-end team. Since then, there has been zero progress or communication. Since automated scripts have failed and the back-end team has not resolved this after two weeks, please have a supervisor or senior support manager manually refresh and unfreeze all remaining listings from September 13th so buyers can complete payment. Buyer lost due to eBay's negligence: Due to this issue dragging on for over two weeks without a fix, I have already lost a buyer for a sold item who gave up waiting. Monitoring of age-18+ offerings and suspected commercial private sales

Dear eBay Team, we commercially sell DVDs and Blu-rays with FSK 18 approval and ship them accordingly with age verification in line with your requirements. This results in significant shipping costs for us. At the same time, we see numerous FSK 18 listings on eBay for only 4 to 5 euros including shipping. A low price does not in itself prove a violation. But it does raise the question for us whether a suitable shipping method is actually being used for these listings (with 8.18 euros shipping costs) and how eBay monitors compliance with its requirements. In addition, there are seller accounts that present themselves as private, while at the same time offering thousands of items, including new goods in their original packaging. Here too, we ask you to tell us on the basis of which criteria eBay checks whether commercial activity is taking place. Please answer us specifically: How does eBay check whether FSK 18 items are actually shipped with age verification? What measures does eBay take with listings or sellers that violate these requirements? How does eBay check conspicuous private seller accounts with a very large stock of new goods? We expect fair competitive conditions for sellers who comply with the requirements and bear the associated costs. We would appreciate a specific response. Kind regards

    Triple shipping charges applied

Hello, I’m already a bit annoyed. I sold an item. I wanted to pay for the shipping through eBay. I did that 3 times. And got an error message 3 times. But no label. At some point, I noticed that the shipping had been charged 3 times. I also received an email from eBay. Saying that they had noticed it, and that they were on it. Since then I haven’t heard anything else. I can’t reach anyone. It’s always the lousy AI. I don’t know any email address. To the one(s) I wrote to. No reply came. Can someone please tell me how I can contact eBay personally. Or how I can get my money back. I’d be happy if someone could help me. Thanks and Regards

    Late shipment

The buyer asked to ship the item only after a week, since he is on vacation. Does the label expire? How do I need to do that, since it's outside the deadline? Thanks!!! Lilly

Warning: No seller protection with basic shipment tracking (letter/small parcel)? My experience!

Hello everyone, I want to warn you about eBay seller protection with basic shipping tracking (letter/parcels) and ask whether you’ve had similar experiences. This is about the case where a buyer reports an “item not received” even though the shipment was successfully delivered according to tracking. The background: A shipment was paid for by me on Aug. 11, scanned on Aug. 12, and according to tracking delivered on Aug. 13. Shipping was handled completely through the eBay shipping manager . As is well known, eBay has for some time promised full seller protection for DHL letter shipments with basic tracking (and since 01.08.2026 also for DHL parcels) if shipping was booked through eBay’s own shipping manager and the status says “Successfully delivered.” The reality: a trap for sellers In practice, this protection gives private sellers a false sense of security. As soon as the buyer opens the case and it is escalated to customer service after 4 working days, the following happens: Automatically, the system does immediately give you a positive rating for this transaction (“Order delivered on time and without issues”). Nevertheless, customer service decided the case in favor of the buyer . The absurd reasoning from support: “Since we cannot confirm successful delivery, we are now closing this case and will fully refund the buyer’s purchase price. To continue selling successfully on eBay in the future and benefit from our seller protection, I recommend that you always choose a shipping method with tracking.” The receipt madness: Before that, support had requested additional proof: “the original postal receipt showing the buyer’s delivery address. Please take a photo of the receipt.” I then uploaded the original PDF stamp with matrix code, tracking number, date, recipient and sender address. This document was not accepted . Apparently, support expects a printed DHL branch receipt, like the kind you only get with parcels. The fact that the tracking number is already permanently and automatically linked to the recipient address by the eBay shipping manager (and included in the matrix code) is completely ignored. Shipping to a different address is technically impossible with this label (with this tracking number). The shipment can only have arrived at the buyer’s address. Conclusion: There is NO seller protection with basic tracking for letters and DHL parcels! If the buyer claims not to have received anything despite the shipment status “Successfully Delivered,” the eBay customer service will refund the purchase amount + shipping costs to the buyer. And advise the seller: “To continue selling successfully on eBay in the future and benefit from our seller protection, I recommend that you always choose a shipping method with tracking.” The legal situation in Germany: As a private seller, according to the legal basis, I only have to prove: “sale by shipment between private individuals (§ 447 BGB)”, that I properly sent the item. In a sale from private to private, the transport risk passes to the buyer as soon as the seller hands the item over to the shipping company. If the buyer claims, despite proof of shipment, that nothing arrived, they cannot legally demand either compensation or a refund from a private seller. But, since when has eBay cared about laws!
